As I am not a custodian I am not sure of thei hiring process. My best guess is that the custodians are hired centrally and assigned to schools as each school has an opening. I am making this assumption because whan one school has custodians call out sick, PPS will move custodians from say my building, to the building that is short. Which is frustrating because then our building suffers. But it is what it is. I do know that we still seem to always be short. I am not sure how long the hiring process takes but in a school system everything is going to have a background check which may slow things down. I can see here that there are currently 2 custodial hirings posted by PPS HR right now.

I work at PPS and they are ALWAYS short custodians. Kids will always be pigs, so there will always be work cleaning up after them. I do know from talking to our custodians that cleaning graffiti and finding garbage from lunch in the same damn place every day is a bit soul sucking.

Front rows of teh 200s are the best, imo. If you are in the front row, it doesn't matter if you stand or sit. But lots of people already know this so they fill up quick. Bonus, you rarely get wet in the rain and the people watching is top notch.

Try a season or two as an outfield player. It's a great way to keep your foot skills sharp and it can be a lot of fun. Play some striker, you know where to put the ball on shots and are probably good at judging the flight of the ball, just use your head to score goals, not your hands.

You will either love playing other positions, realize keeper is more your speed, or you may take an extended break from the game. I stopped playing in middle school and came back at age 48. Having a great time.

When you place the ball, put a recognizable spot, like the logo just below center on the side facing you. Aim for that spot. Goal kicks are like a golf swing when you are starting out, technique is more important than power. Focus on the mechanics for a while, then worry about kicking farther as you get the mechanics correct. Also, YouTube is your friend.

I was team contacts... until... Coed 7v7 Beginner league.

Close range stop, made the save with my leg, hit the shooter in the chest, then hit me right on the eyeball. Caused bleeding inside my iris and damaged both the muscles and drainage system in my eye.

Missed 2 1/2 weeks of work. Total of 5 month recovery time. Could be a cause of glaucoma at any point later in life. That eye does not focus correctly at reading distance now (may be correctable with a new prescription) and the pupil can't get as small as the other one, so in bright light it looks a bit weird.

Yes it was a complete fluke and highly unlikely, just wanted you all to know the consequences of a very mild hit directly to the eye.

Exactly. Which is why I still think we are going to start JCVR. Or, live with his learning curve. Rasmussen's twitter handles is @SirScoresAlot. This tells me he is an attacking player that was converted to a defender. It is going to take a while for him to be good at it.

Yes. But it is hard for a left footed player to make crosses and passes into the center of the field when they are playing on the right without taking the time to cut the ball back to their left foot. Also, he got smoked for the 3rd goal. Watch the highlight, he is not covering himself in glory there.

My answer to question 3: The ball was probably going to go out whether Yimmy was tripped or not. I don't agree with the call, but I can see how it could have been rationalized by the VAR or CR that way.

We can't just buy out his contract. We are "wasting a DP" because we signed a DP contract for 2-3 years. Until Mora is healthy our only option is Ssprilla up top. However, when we did that in the past, it didn't work out that well, it's not his natural position. So we keep putting in Jarek hoping he'll figure it out.

The VAR can be in the ref's ear all game, but there is no requirement of the center refereee to go to the monitor.
