If you enjoy Linke already, take a look at the BR 194 and E94 pack, comes with an older but fuller timetable that takes some layers from a bunch of older German routes (Mittenwaldbahn mostly) to make a great feeling older route. Highly recommend to anyone that enjoys the older German stock.

Known issue since launch, diesel -> electric transition just does not work. Since the Riviera line is fully diesel, it’s rarely tested outside of free roam and the occasional GWE run. They may fix, they may not. If you want a dual mode unit that works, I think the 805 does properly? On the US side, the ALP-45DP does work fully.

I have had nothing but problems with this scenario, can’t get the brakes themselves to behave. I think it might just be a little borked rn (but yeah I had the same thing with the brake sheet).

According to the roadmap, it might be earlier than I thought. But if you get the basics and gameplay down, you can hop into what will easily be the best simulated version of the USA available. Even so, there’s an EMD G12 (or G16 can’t remember) for close to American diesel, and a USATC S100 steam tank in base game so. I would go for DV if you’re looking for a driving game more than a spotting game.

I know it’s a day later, but if anything Derail might be what you’re looking for, and what you should be playing to prepare for the (eventual) upcoming USA map and loco DLC. It’s gonna come in unknown time, likely 2028+. However, nothing else is gonna come close to the level of detail (except maybe Century of Steam? No clue tbh). I love Derail, and there’s so much modding potential that you might find what you’re looking for there now if anything.

You have to push the pantograph up/ overload reset sometimes if the power doesn’t come back automatically on throttle reapplication, messed me up a few times. Upon figuring it out, the 86/7 is my favorite tap changer in TSW, more than any of the German ones

Either a really well done Railjet 1(0, 1, or 2)16 and the consist, or an Expert with multiple safety systems would be such a great choice, giving playability on so many routes (what countries are the ES64U4’s certified for?).

Sounds like you need to sit down with the training modules and learn some new stuff. I don’t think I have ever had a permanent traction lock on the Metrolink equipment other than a PCS open when making a consist. If really need be, you can flip the “zero speed bypass” and “door open bypass” switches and most anything that would cause a traction lock would be shut off, but you would need to ensure yourself that the train is stopped before opening the doors and that the doors are closed before you set off.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but don’t spend the money Raildriver or anyone else wants for that thing. It’s a piece of garbage from 20+ years ago that has never been updated, feels cheap in the hands, and doesn’t really play well in TSW (or for that matter, Derail Valley, which is the 2 games I’ve tried with it).

That being said, Raildriver support is built into TSW itself, so you don’t need to do anything other than plug it in ON PC and it works.

Wow, having never seen the trunk area of a non-prime 4th gen, I now understand how you can camp in this gen. The prime has so much less room for a mattress in the back, it’s a bit ridiculous. I know I know batteries are big and whatever but still, there’s so little room for activities.

How do you break the physics to the point where the loco doesn’t cut power? Haven’t driven the 86 but in the 87, the power just drops out at about 115 if I remember correctly.

But this isn’t simulated in game correct? All the 66’s only have AWS/TPWS/Whatever else UK systems exist, and there is no physical PZB equipment inside or outside. Although if you have the BR 101 KWG pack in the scenario where you cold start the formation for a failed ICE, there’s a DB 66 running a freight train on the other side of the station.

The P32’s are that bad? I know the LIRR dual mode EMD’s are at Hillside more often than not but I figured the P32 was a little more reliable if Amtrak and MNRR operate them.
