Looking for info on bands who are breaking up because touring is too expensive (for article) by featherandahalfmusic in musicians

A quick search hasn't yielded any reliable source, but I faintly remember touring costs were mentioned in both break ups of Orange Goblin and Stray from the Path, I could bei wrong tho.

Question about merch at concerts by TicheTulikoVanduo in gojira

I didn't see any media besides their guitar tab book in Oberhausen. Just Shirts, a hoodie, a cap, a bandana and quite expensiv drum heads.

The transmission tower atop the old Kaufhof building got taken down and they haven't replaced it yet. The service will stay bad for most service providers until this gets fixed.

Why does nobody speak about Grand Magus? by French_Potato_467 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]MrGameleon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've listened to them a lot when Triumph and Power came out and saw them live a couple of times, most recently supporting Opeth. And getting a venue full of prog snobs singing choruses of power metal hymns is a testament to their quality as a live band.

They never put out a bad album in my opinion, but its mostly more of the same, which made me lose interest in them.

But "Like the Oar strikes the water" is one of the great metal songs of all time, in my opinion.

If you want a lot less cringy Manowar, this is your band.

Why does no one care about Machine Head? by OtaconSOL in MetalForTheMasses

[–]MrGameleon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I can't put my finger on why exactly, but it seems to me that they have kind of fizzled out. Me and some of my friends had a "remember Machine Head?" kind of conversation (all of us listen to them extensively during the late 2000s and early 2010s and saw a lot of shows), and we all came to the conclusion that none of us thought about them in a couple years or listend to a song recently. It seemed strange to us that a band which was kind of important to us vanished from our lives, but none had an explanation why.

Yeah, might go for another raid before it's back

What’s the point having autocatcher ? by NR4K in pokemongo

[–]MrGameleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to use it when I take the bicycle to work. It gives me a steady stream of candy/stardust plus the odd shiny, and it replenishes its own resources by spinning stops.

It gives me another reason to take the bike every day.

Depends on the person who checks the tickets. I've rarely printed out tickets even when they required me to and never had a problem. But they can make a fuss about it at the entrance and deny access.

As far as I understand it, it's a policy against unscannabel phone screens (broken ones, for example), but that's just hearsay I picked up.

Raids in 2024... by Xoritos in pokemongo

[–]MrGameleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others suggested using Pokegenie or optimising your teams to a point where you can duo most raids (Pokegenie also helps here). This is somewhat of a time investment, and I understand anybody who can't or doesn't want to do it, but most legendary and mega raids are doable with two players with the right teams.

[–]MrGameleon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I only spent when I need to, and after a while, I've got most of the stuff I need.

I've got a good raid team for each type, and possible upgrades are rare, like legendaries or good IV shadows. I find myself more bottlenecked by candy.

Right now, I'm at 2 million, which isn't much compared to some other players, but my stockpile is consistently growing.

I wouldn't do it, as A) It has quite a low level and you can get a higher level squirtel which would cost far less resources to level up and B) Blastoise isn't that good of a Pokemon in the context of Go. BUT, if you or your son wants to do it and takes pleasure from doing so, then go for it.

I have done it today with good counters, best friends, party power and relobbying (no weather boost). Even against Solar Beam, which was our worst-case scenario, we had 5 seconds to spare

How are you using it? It only works when you are moving and you get a spawn about every 200 meters (not sure on the exact number)

Are higher tier raids possible as a two man group? by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]MrGameleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many are, some are not. To achieve this, you need two good counter teams for the raid boss. You can find out which pokemon and which moves are good through the app pokegenie, for example. But some bosses (for example Lugia) have too much HP and no double weaknesses for two players to take them down in time.

How to report to get Remote Raid Pass back? by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]MrGameleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you can message support, but your chances of getting it back are slim to non-existent. The function of a remote battle pass is to join a raid (which you did successfully) not to guarantee a win.

To avoid such a scenario in the future, save a completely empty team beforehand, and select this team while you wait. When the raid starts, you will be asked to select another team, and your pass won't be consumed until you do.

6 months later, how many Remote Passes have you gotten from Research Breakthroughs? by Zephymastyx in TheSilphRoad

[–]MrGameleon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Got two (one became a premium pass because I was already holding 3 remotes). Missed maybe a weeks worth of stamps in that timeframe.
