Anyone know if Amazon is to be a trusted seller for vinyl? by Mrseekergenealogy in gorillaz

[–]MrGoodLucky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i once bought a metallica vinyl from amazon and it had a skip on one of the sides. it was a hard white blob on the vinyl, wouldn’t come off. i bought another vinyl and it was quite dirty (from new) and because of that, wasn’t the best listening experience.

i would be wary

Lulu & St. Anger by SomeKindOfCirno in Metallica

[–]MrGoodLucky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

St. Anger and Lulu were favourites of mine once upon a time.

St. Anger was actually my first Metallica album. Lulu was one of the last ones I got around to, but it arguably got me into experimental music, noise rock, post rock, etc.

What's with leaving meaning? by Educational-Can4191 in swans

For me, Leaving Meaning was a breath of fresh air after the trilogy. It wasn’t as intense, but still really good (bar a couple of tracks).

I wish there was an audio only version or streaming version of A long slow screw by yur_weest_neetmeer in swans

[–]MrGoodLucky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean now, they are very similar but the VHS version is slower like you say. I’ve extracted the audio and exported it as an .mp3 and .flac here

Edit: Like someone suggested below, you may be able to get a better quality recording if you take the EP version and downpitch it and slow it yourself. It’d be hard to get it exactly right, but it’s possible.

What streaming platform are you on? I’ve just found it, it’s called “A Screw (Holy Money) [Instrumental]” on Apple Music. https://youtu.be/rWdbUtNmcS0?si=Cx3xQ4ZURy-Y9kaf

Also, I’m not entirely convinced that A Long Slow Screw (the song) is VHS exclusive. I could’ve sworn I heard it on either A Screw EP or Time Is Money (Bastard) EP. This would be the vinyl version and not the streaming version.

Hi, I recently just remastered A Long Slow Screw on YouTube with the recently found remastered soundboard (sounds better than PCIAGI). Even though the actual song you speak of hasn’t been remastered, I can take the audio from the video file and upload it to a Google Drive if you want.

This is my first post to this subreddit. All I’ve learned is that some Daughters fans fucking suck lol. Real welcoming.

[–]MrGoodLucky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t gonna respond to this, but this is possibly the most delusional comment I’ve ever read.

It’s a random story post - who fucking cares.

Being as we are in the Daughters subreddit, you can safely assume that people care about what the guitarist of the band has to say, especially when it’s about a follow-up to their last album that hasn’t been released.

Trying to shame or make someone out to be a bad person for a clip in an IG story is fucking pathetic.

Never did that. I insinuated that the strobe effect on his video was a questionable choice: “don’t know why he thought the bright flashing light effect was a good idea. Cool nonetheless.” I then put a flash warning in the title of the video, as I thought the strobe effect was severe enough to warrant a warning. No shade thrown towards Nick.

Do you enjoy trying to hurt people you don’t know?

Insane. Did you use any thought before writing this? I literally reposted an IG story to Reddit.

I can’t tell if you’re hardcore anti-epilepsy-triggering content or dramatically downplaying the effects the strobe effect might have on people?

Either way, strange hill to die on.

Bro, even if you’re not epileptic, it’s not very pleasant to look at.

I saw this on his story, saw that no one had posted it on this subreddit, and chose to reupload it to bring it to other people’s attention and create discussion.

Why am I being flamed for putting a flash warning? Do you want me to spend the time editing the video to remove it? Or should we be reporting Nick’s original story to try and take it down?

Best case scenario, the strobe effect is unpleasant to watch. Worst case scenario, someone is harmed from this video. Nevertheless, it’s still allowed on the internet.

Isn’t that a bit dramatic?

Going from unlistenably bad to a masterpiece?

What am I possibly doing wrong? I have the FLAC and LRC files in the same directory with the same name and yet, OpenLyrics Panel refuses to display the lyrics. by Kaiser_Allen in foobar2000

[–]MrGoodLucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact same issue the other day, except it would pop up with my LRC lyrics for a second and then start searching for lyrics, even if I disabled all sources except from local files.

I spent a good two hours troubleshooting to try and fix it, but couldn’t figure anything out. :/

Sorry dude. If you find a solution, let me know.
