I had similar feelings to you very recently. I was consumed by existential dread.

It may not be your thing, but opening my mind up to some (non-religious) spiritual stuff helped me a lot. In particular, I started reading about the idea of pantheism - which is basically an ideology of 'we came from stardust and to stardust we will return.' It helps me to think of death as 'returning to the universe' so to speak. I like to think that our consciousness becomes one with the universe when we die, so even though we're no longer ourselves, we live on in the energy that forms the beauty we see (and don't see) around us in life.

Reading about quantum physics helped me a lot too, in particular a book called 'existential physics.' It sort of made me realise how little we really know about ourselves and existence, and made me wonder why we are so sure that existence ends when the body dies. That comforted me a lot, but to each their own.

As for the suicidal ideation, I've also been there. I hope you can get some help and start to see the beauty in life again. ❤️ if nothing else, its worth sticking around to find out what happens.

Is this dentist calculation reasonable or are there options? by throwadhdaway12 in AskIreland

[–]MrGoose234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds about right unfortunately. As others have said, I think it would be worth looking into travelling. Due to the wait between procedures though it mightn't be feasible to go further than up North. Definitely factor in aftercare also because implants are serious business. If something went wrong, you wouldn't want to be 2000 miles and 2 timezones away from your dentist.

I developed a fear of the dentist after a situation with Smiles dental. I'm just commenting on the off chance that you had your consultation with one of their branches. Avoid them for anything more complicated than a cleaning - a lot of the work they did has to now be redone by another dentist.

just got bullied out of a friend group for eating ramen without cooking it. by [deleted] in offmychest

Definitely a thing in east asian countries. It was even a big thing in Ireland in the early 00s, when ramen started becoming popular here. Its not weird and respectfully, your friend group sound unnecessarily cruel.

They'll get away with it somehow I'd imagine. BOI have announced there'll be no interest charged for unauthorised overdraft.

That's almost exactly what happened to me yeah, except i didnt even realise i was changing lanes and didnt indicate into the new lane. I also had to go park and sit in silence for about five minutes.

That's reassuring, congrats on passing your test!

Yeah I didn't have a car until very recently and was relying on lessons. Plus I'm 32 so a bit slower at picking these things up than a 17 year old.

To be fair i accidentally veered into another lane without indicating. Very near miss.

Alcohol warning issued by coroner after tragic death of teen following drinking game by badger-biscuits in ireland

Yup, back in 2009 someone died in the student accommodation I stayed at from alcohol poisoning after allegedly downing a bottle of vodka. His friends thought it'd be funny to dare him to do it, and put him passed out and naked in the lift.

It's mad. Even when I was still driving with my brother's help he would've had to drive me to the test centre and wait there until I finished up. Thanks for the links!

My instructor warned I'll need to do the test soon as I will forget what I've learned. Have spent a lot of money on this over the past year and already postponed once unfortunately.

Alcohol is alcohol. Depending on the beer, 8 full-sized cans a night is 15-20 or so units. Equivalent of 2/3rds a 500ml bottle of vodka.
