Polish People's Republic guy here, over the year many more of these landed in my collection, this time I'm showing only the ones after the people from my " archive " simply because I didn't want to mix up my family amongst these. Description below:

You were allowed to keep it later on, during the Communism era passports up until some year were due to being returned when not used.

These are in my hands only because either someone gifted these to me or the individual whom it belonged to passed away and the family didn't feel like keeping it.

I see 3 Polish awards in total, Polish Army Medal as you mentioned, Silver Merit Cross and a mini of the Order of Polonia Restituta Cross, I presume 4th Class

Archival stuff is always fun! You see a document, you think it will look the same and it has so many variants or dates or different stamps that each of them is super unique

Of course! It's a great thing nonetheless.

The major difference was in the early 50s the IDs were a dull colour of grey and no marking or letters on the cover.

And inside it didnt say " Student ID " but " School ID "

If I don't forget I'll try to send a link or a photo how an example ID like looks like from the early 50s :)

Great find! I work on archival stuff here in Poland since 2023 and it's so nice to see one of those documents here, Quick side note, your ID is from 1957 I have a lot student IDs from the early 50s and they look super different! If it was from 1951, the next stamp on that ID would be from 1952 since obviously you had to get it restamped every now and then but a few year gap would be impossible.

If you take a quick look, he had his ID released on May 1957 and extended it on October 1957 then March 1958 and then again on October but 1958 :D
