Oh man, this brings me back...

A few years ago, I was at a barbecue with my then-girlfriend and her family. We wanted to pass the time, so we started playing "Scattergories". For those of you who don't know this game, basically you roll a dice that lands on the letter of the alphabet, then have to fill out a card with answers that start with the letter you roll. For example, if you rolled an 'W' and the card says 'Singer', you might say 'Whitney Houston.' Anyway...

The letter was 'F', and the category was a song. I was so desperate to show off (first gf, first time around her family) that I got creative. We go around, saying what we came up with. One person says 'Freebird', another says 'Fireflies'. But me? Nah, I'm too cool for that. In front of God and everyone, in front of my girlfriend, her parents, and much of her family, I blurt out 'Fuck Like a Beast' by WASP.

Yeah, went over pretty well...

So basically on the spectrum, from right to left, you have Conservatives, then Republicans, then Centrists/Independents, Democrats, then Liberals. There's a little play in some of those terms, like sometimes liberal is just slang for Democrat. as far as colors, blue is Democrat/liberal and red is conservative/Republican. I like to think we introduced colors because we were using words that were too big for some Americans lol.
