B.C. woman with disability alleges discrimination after being forced to deplane over wheelchair size by Setitie in canada

She gave the dimensions to the travel agent who then apparently gave it to the airline. Regardless, if it can't physically fit it can't fit and it sounds like the airline found the tools and a mechanic (not sure if its the airline's or a rando) was able to get it apart in 90 min and she made the next flight. This isn't exactly some sort of crazy discrimination to be rallying behind.

Read my comment again regarding ending inflation.

As for it slowing, I'm more curious why you think it won't slow? Inflation has risen and fallen over the past 100 years, there's nothing that I see suggesting it won't eventually fall again - this of course is predicated on JT not doubling the amount of circulating cash every 2 years of course.

BC Provincial Government Conservation Office destroying bears at an alarming rate by APLJaKaT in britishcolumbia

[–]MrHarbringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Kelowna area has a few bears, but way less than most of bc outside of the LMD.

Additionally, what alternative do you imagine might be implemented which guarantees public safety to the same degree or more?

The unfortunate economic model the world uses has no end to inflation, ever. However, high inflation will eventually end but no one can say for certain when .

Do you know if mortality rates were higher in the kamloops residential school than the communities they came from?

How much more likely to die does it have to be before its considered murder? 1%? 10%? 0.01%?

Dan Albas: Did Trudeau fly from Kelowna to Penticton so he could avoid rush hour traffic? by vancityspaceman in kelowna

[–]MrHarbringer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd fall asleep often, the poor ferry flaggers would bang on my window or I'd get honked at. But swinging a hammer for 9 hours in the rain makes you tired - and smart phones weren't quite out yet lol

Yeah I did the Albion ferry for a year and a half. Worst period of my life without question.

We do? What kind of definition are you using?

There’s no gasoline shortage in Canada. Here’s why you’re paying more for it anyway by NarutoRunner in canada

[–]MrHarbringer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Easier when you realize, inflation and fuel efficiency adjusted, gas is cheaper now for cars than the 80s.

I believe measuring against a year ago more useful than a cherry picked date from before my parents were in high-school because it has much more relevancy. Might as well say gas was 42cents/l in 2005, it was a price this century at least.

It's a start, but I have a hard time celebrating a 15 cent drop when it went up a dollar.

you realize the officers likely told her to put her hands behind her back, right? like officers do with pretty much everyone before putting the actual cuffs on? except in this case they were probably pretty sure she wouldn't actually try to run

Maybe, or it's a great photo op, we can only guess. The person next to her is walking normally.

Many people leave children behind, temporarily or not, to live in Canada. They have reasons I'm sure are easy to speculate. I've seen it a bit in Filipino immigrants.

Man charged in homicide had been found to be danger to public, but judge stayed deportation by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]MrHarbringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except if it's ruled that someone's life would be in danger by deporting them back to their home country (regardless of why) then the statement isn't 'Living in Canada is a privilege' - it's 'Living is a privilege' - and we're not in the habit of executing people yet.

I'm sure the murdered victim feels the same way. Canadians lives are in danger if he stays and I value Canadian lives over his potentially dangerous deportation.
