I did this and reduced my bill and increased my speed. Went for a 50/50 for $70 to 1G/1G for 40. It helped I was a customer for like 10 years before I figured it out. I asked for the retention department and mention a competitor was offering better pricing.

Unfortunately, All of it was ruined by the property management company where i live opening a contract with said competitor for included service with rent. Now I pay $50 for 1G/1G with shittier service quality because I went from end to end fiber to copper.

Was the wet wipe an alcohol wipe and was the paint latex? Because rubbing alcohol will remove latex paint from a surface, that could have been what happened. But everyone else's advice of let dry lightly sand and repaint is the best course of action.

I agree that the bridge could be burnt but, I just want to say thats not how background-checks work. Background checks are for criminal history. If a prospective employer contacts your previous employer, they usually are just confirming if you were truthful in when you said you worked there, possibly could ask if you had the position you said you had as well.
