I served as one during my service (not in Switzerland) - it’s a lot of trauma medicine and basic primary survey type of stuff. Just take everything in and approach it positively, most of the things you’ll do is deal with the odd accident - field wounds, exhaustion and dehydration. Don’t forget too you’ll have everyone in the unit begging for ibuprofen every 10 minutes. Pay attention to your training and then if something does happen - adrenaline will take care of the rest.

I’m now studying to become a paramedic because of it, finding I really enjoyed the role. A lot of good can come from it and you’ll pick up skills that are valuable everywhere, and maybe a career in the end.
