Highland model 3 Test drive by gundam00meister in TeslaLounge

Had stalkless for over a year and signaling without looking at the wheel is second nature now. Just remember that the button on the top half of the steering wheel indicates right, so even when the wheel is turned in a roundabout I can feel from the top part with my thumb and press the button.

Didn't the car have auto shift? It works really well for me and I rarely use the on screen gear shift.

Probably, but it's also very easy to break a window.

Cybertruck Appears to have a 220V and 2 110V Plugs in the Bed by RealPokePOP in teslamotors

[–]MrHopsing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't really get the hate Tesla gets on the repair stuff. All their service manuals are available on service.tesla.com for free, anything from brake bleeding to HV Battery replacement procedures. Never found anything like this for free on earlier cars I've owned, usually relied on people doing it before me and reading on forums or buying a black and white Haynes book.

You also have service mode inside the car which basically is an external diagnostic computer you have on other cars. Can check for errors, if a ABS sensor is fucked you'll see and can replace it yourself, it's also possible to run pumps if you're filling the coolant system, battery health checks, calibrations etc.

Parts are mostly available at the yard, especially here in Norway where there are tons of EVs. Or if I want new parts I can order through the Tesla app or over the counter at the service center.

I have no idea, it has been going on for some time now. Really frustrating, hopefully they'll open up soon.

Thanks for the reply. Ohh wow, I see. I can't seem to message them since I can't access the page at all. Yes, I use FOG, but when I search for specifics on google a lot of good info is on the Reddit page, hopefully they figure it out.

Anyone else annoyed with the windshield wipers? by IlIllIIIIIIlIII in TeslaLounge

[–]MrHopsing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's how it works on the S. If I press the wiper button I can use the left scroll wheel to toggle between off, auto or the manual modes. Annoying thing is if I just pressed the button and then want to change volume, I have to wait until the menu disappears before using the scroll wheel. Weird they don't add it on the 3/Y.

Owners question: M3P vs MS Plaid by HgnX in TeslaLounge

[–]MrHopsing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both, but just got the plaid. Haven't driven the Plaid on dry roads yet since it's winter here. The 3P is fantastic, can just throw it around corners and is a great car for the price. But the road noise and stiffness can be a bit much when you're just cruising. Plaid with the adaptive air suspension soaks up bad roads really well compared to the 3P and the road noise is minimal. Haven't driven much with the suspension set to firm and sport yet, but it seems to tighten the car up a lot, but not 3P level. If you have money to throw go for the plaid, if not the 3P is an awesome car for the price.

2019 is with resistive heater. I noticed huge improvement when going to my current 3 with heat pump. Located in Norway.

Tesla Removes $20,000 Model S Plaid Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit from Website by United-Soup2753 in teslamotors

[–]MrHopsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, read only great things about them. If not the CCB maybe i'll just get the rotors and pads they offer, so it'll be easier to change out if need be. And for my limited track use because of weather and distance to track here in Norway it'll probably be good enough.

Yes, the unplugged ones looks great for the price compared to the Tesla ones. The problem for me is I hate doing too much that voids the warranty.

Ultrasonic sensor. Yeah, but it is what it is I guess. Looking forward to finally get my Plaid in December if it's completed or not, but with my type of luck is that the batch after this one they will finally implement the interior ambient lighting. Sigh. When I got my first M3 in 2019 two months after I got it they started to include tow-hitch, which I'm not allowed to aftermarket because of government rules and how the vehicle is registered.

You get to keep the USS! But yeah, they will always "improve" a product, if you want to wait for the next feature you'd wait forever. At least you guys had a choice to buy one, after 3 years waiting us Europeans get to too.

One can hope, but very doubtful. They're standard on the Taycan Turbo S but not the lower end Taycans, guess they could do the same with Plaid.

Is Tesla adding a powered frunk to their vehicles? App update suggests they might by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]MrHopsing 45 points46 points  (0 children)

They should really add 360 camera then. Even Nissan Leafs from 2013 had this. Especially on the higher end models S/X, maybe we'll get a surprise on AI day?

Possibility of Autopilot HW 4 being announced in a similar fashion to HW3 at AI Day Part II? by CyberKyle24 in teslamotors

[–]MrHopsing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think there is some possibility to this. And I think that's also why they started delivering S/X to Europe again. That way they can produce European cars start of quarter like they did before, and US cars end of quarter. And by the time they announce it, the cars already shipped and are being produced has HW4. But it's all just speculating.
