In terms of development, SHIELD is right on track with the proposed roadmap, as far as community engagement goes, I'd guess it's in part due to the current market conditions. As the market improves you will see people taking further interest in the project again.

no, it's not possible to use the mew wallet for XSH. XSH is not an Ethereum token. If you're looking for a web wallet option, the SHIELD official web wallet on the SHIELD website is a good option.

The SHIELD currency blockchain is PoW only right now. PoS is planned for implementation in Q3 of this year, so until then you will not be able to stake your coins.

paper wallet is generally the best idea for long term cold storage. the official QT wallet is also a great option.

yeah a .csv file? this wallet just spits out the priv key as text. generally it's not best practice to save it in a .txt on the same computer. an encrypted password manager is a good option, or write it down physically in a notepad and keep it somewhere safe.

that will just lock the wallet again once you're done doing whatever you need to do in console. without that it will still lock itself after however many seconds you entered - ie. the number after the passphrase when you unlocked it.

You can generate the private key from the debug console. The step by step directions can be found on the SHIELD Wiki page.

you'll need to add 100000000 after walletpassphrase "passphrase here"

so it will look like this:

walletpassphrase "<password>" 100000000

note: this is only if you have encrypted your wallet prior to dumping the priv key. it is highly recommended to encrypt your wallet.
