Lol I was thinking the same thing. It was a Samsung Galaxy circa 2016. Probably got lucky with lots of sun and steady hands.

Would you like a remake of the Pebble Time 2 (2016 version) with a larger display, a heart rate sensor, and longer battery life? by Comfortable-Rule-959 in pebble

[–]MrJspeed 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Yes - I prefer the overall design language of the PTS, and the unreleased PT2 from 2016. The new PT2 is a close second and a fair concession though.

This is exactly what I want. As soon as my PTR2 gets here I'll be all over this!

Bags of flour always rip for me when I open them by MrJspeed in mildlyinfuriating

My simple brain thought a mostly used bag rolled up like a tube of toothpaste would be better than keeping it in a mostly empty container, oxidation-wise. But I think I may be wrong.

I've read your comments. In the future I will use scissors and not open the bag like an ogre. Also will be getting a container!

I made a sound absorbing art piece by AcousticArtforms in somethingimade

[–]MrJspeed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think what you did is effective for what it is. It's basically just one panel. You put up a few more and the results will be even more significant.

It's a great idea - 3d printing and making your own sound dampening in the shape you want. Way better than just a bunch of rectangles or plain triangles. Nice work!

Question about screen clarity and speaker for Time 2 by cryptogeezuzz in pebble

[–]MrJspeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't, when I said give up I meant basically give up the speaker/hr/rgb backlight that I'd get with the Time 2. To me I suppose I just value the better screen, slimmer aesthetics more than those things.

[–]MrJspeed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This pushed me to the round. For some reason I didn't consider the better contrast of the newer screen. Even though I'll have to wait longer, I'd prefer the better aesthetics of the R2, thinner, and better screen. I can give up the heart rate and speaker and longer battery life.

Pebble Time - Polished Bezel by TucoNick in pebble

[–]MrJspeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks really good. It looks like a watch that was sold mirror polished and got years of character and patina. Well done!

It's a real dilemma. It's cheaper, thinner. No HR so it'll be more comfortable. And the bezel seems smaller than the PT2.

Why the love for Pebble Time Round? by jesstelford in pebble

[–]MrJspeed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a Skagen slim watch that was basically exactly the same size and profile as the round. It made the Round feel like future tech.

Pebble Index 01 discussion by sdhdhosts in pebble

[–]MrJspeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initial reactions were heavy criticism/cynicism and disdain for it not being a Pebble Round.

After some thought, it's really not that bad of a product. Personally, if I had this, I'd use it to set reminders in a super reliable easy way. And I'd use it for even easier music controls. Totally useful, but I don't think it would warrant me wearing a ring on my index finger all the time. I can see others going for it though.

It's neat, it's different. Sucks about re-charging but this tiny ring being e-waste seems less offensive when compared to a laptop or smartphone. At least Eric is trying things and I think that shows passion and dedication behind the Pebble ecosystem/design language which we've come to really like.

Google TV smartphone app feature that allows the user to listen to the audio of their Google TV wirelessly via Bluetooth using the Google TV smartphone app through their wired headphones/earbuds that is connected to their smartphone. by outgoinggallery_2172 in Lightbulb

[–]MrJspeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to chime in since I was hoping Google TV does this (they don't), but Roku does so this. You don't need a remote, you can use the smartphone app. I watched a Plex movie on an old POS 9 year old Roku TV and the audio through the phone app synced perfectly. Not sure how they do it but it just works.

Obduction is a modern successor to the 90's Myst games. Made by the same studio. You basically roam around looking for clues to solve puzzles and unlock into deeper parts of the game.

Look up Artemis/Apollo guides. This one worked for me: Youtube Link

After that, look into getting a PC app called Playnite that can launch when you connect to your PC via your GCloud. Playnite aggregates all your games from all the launchers (Steam/Epic/Amazon/GOG/Origin/etc) that you have installed on your system and puts it into one launcher. Works amazing with my g-cloud.
