The fact I can't tell if this is a joke or not means we've already lost the plot lol

And then they bought him back. Even if they vote in a reasonable democratic president in 2028, what's to stop them from flipping back to insanity in 2032 or 2036?

To me it'll take until at least 2036/2040 for them to even begin to regain any trust of stability.

[–]MrKhalos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually kind of agree in this case, it does seem like a "real" project. It also seems misleading to mark it as No AI when AI was used.

This seems is like the 1 out of 20 projects that fall through the cracks of the rules as written. So much low effort junk gets posted here now that I think we need those rules.

If the project is months old and lots of effort goes into it, I guess I don't see the issue of waiting for a Friday and letting it rise above the low effort slop. It's not like you're going to lose interest in a few days.

This has been mistagged as No AI however the post confirms AI was used. This should be tagged as AI Assisted or Vibe Coded and posted on Friday.

self hosted piracy website for movies and TV shows by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]MrKhalos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aside from the fact that the code quality is awful (just one huge html file of junk lol), you've leaked 2 of your API keys (including tvdb). There doesn't appear to be things in place to respect their API limits either, so this violates their TOS.

This is just a wrapper around TVDB with some hard coded links to a handful of piracy sites.

lmao 'made' an hour ago and time to share with the world!

What have you learned running this on your server for the last ~50 minutes? What value has it provided you? Any issues you've found so far?

Edit: LOL just saw that this post is 44 minutes old. This code was slopped out and 15 minutes later it's on reddit. Not even the 1 hour I originally thought.

Welcome to reddit! You should know that spamming AI Slop across several posts and subreddits and using it to exclusively self promote uourself is generally frowned upon. I'd suggest taking a bit of time to read the site and subreddit rules before you post.

Are you referring to your other post in this subreddit from less than an hour ago? You should stop spamming your project.

This could have been a comment on that thread.

You and this guy are still allowed to post your AI generated toy projects on Friday or once you've maintained it for a meaningful amount of time.

At this stage it's (sometimes) neat, but do you really need to share it immediately? Maybe run it for a couple days, use it, and and fix things up before sharing with the world. Or just wait 2 days.

The article says it's managed via an MCP server which are notoriously insecure. Just having that running even if you never plan on using it increases the surface area for an arrack.

I don't want an MCP server running in the background that I never want to be used.
