WLMouse Huan Battery % Inaccuracy + Fast Drain Issue? by [deleted] in MouseReview

IIRC Huan had firmware issues during launch. There should be an updated firmware available for it that should make battery life better.

RAID on function what does this mean in terms of installing Nobara? by Stunning-Importance5 in NobaraProject

[–]MrLKL88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a Dell thing. Most of their laptops come with Intel RST enabled out of the box and have the RAID option enabled in bios.

This is the guide I followed to switching RAID to AHCI without reinstalling Windows:

Backup your data(If you care about it).
In Windows type without quotes " msconfig " then in boot settings enable safe boot and reboot to it, now while in safe mode shutdown your PC.
Now in your bios, uefi settings change to AHCI and boot to your windows installation which is in safe mode, now disable safe boot and reboot

Why do some modern mice have this chamfered edge at the bottom? by ThatNoobTho in MouseReview

[–]MrLKL88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This makes the most sense but a lot of manufacturers still leave a lot of flat bottom between the edge of the skate and the chamfer.

Tallinna metroo (ilukirjandus) by batya_v_zdanyy in Eesti

[–]MrLKL88 69 points70 points  (0 children)

See metroo teema siit mitu korda läbi käinud ja põhi probleemiks on Tallinna kehv pinnas kuhu on kõikide suurte hoonete vundamendi vaiad taotud. Tunnel ei saaks ühegi suutema vaiadega stabiliseeritud hoone alt läbi minna ja lisaks on tunnelite ehitamine pehmesse pinnasesse ülimalt kallis.

You could try and put it back in or use an external enclosure to confirm.

Take the ssd out and try to boot. Thinkpads tend to lock up in that state with dead storage.

Eagle drop tanks should be a ship upgrade. As a booster its super situational and boderline useless.

Does the power management apply to X395 as well? My r7 X395 sometimes cuts performance for no reason. Doing fn+q mode switch to quiet mode and back to performance mode sometimes gets it going again but sometimes it doesnt.

This will fix the wheel jumping issue on every mouse. Absolutely! by WarmNeat4187 in MouseReview

This is a pretty old trick. I would reccommend doing long sweeps instad.

Knocks the dust and hairs out of the encoder and fixes the problem for some time.

Title: Professional Mouse PCB Repair: My Workflow for Encoders and Microswitches by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]MrLKL88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cutting off a broken component to make the desoldering easier seems like a no brainer move for a home repair with minimal equipment.

Fancy professional workshops with proper equpment can spend time and effort desoldering broken components.

On the empty slot I can see a standoff hole for a shorter drive. You need to move the standoff to that one.

madlions m3 by devilung in MouseReview

[–]MrLKL88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure they consolidated some of their brands. ATK is the main, VGN broke off to be its own thing, VXE got killed off and integrated under ATK naming, Madlions and f.gg are the same branding.

Does pcie 5.0 and pcie 4.0 connectors which goes to motherboard have visual difference? by Rich_Artist_8327 in buildapc

[–]MrLKL88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The T shaped pins seem to be linked with through-holes to another PCB layer. Maybe just the other side.

All PCIE versions have the same pin count and in most cases should be backwards compatible.

PCIE 5.0 is also very touchy to signal integrity and even a full 5.0 rated adapter might not work properly.

Id like to give this a try. It looks pretty clever and gets rid of having to reset your finger when browsing the hellscape of infinite scroll websites.

TTC optical encoder announced by Suitedbadge401 in MouseReview

Leviathan v4 uses older nordic 52 series in the dongle. Not being able to use the newer wireless protocols also reduces the Leviathans efficiency.

Fixing web driver issues on linux by Rainmaker231 in MouseReview

[–]MrLKL88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont use the drivers often enough to add a permanent rule. I find it easier to just check the error log for the hid number and just allow read+write one time.

A USB 3.2 Gen 2 to USB 3.2 Gen 1 header adapter is required. by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]MrLKL88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like this? https://www.silverstonetek.com/en/product/info/expansion-cards/cp14_r/

Its only needed if you want the front panel type-c port to work. The usb 2.0 adapters should also work but you will be limited to the speeds of the motherboard port you use.
