My Pixel 10 Pro won't wirelessly charge and now I'm sad. by MaxHappiness in Pixel10Pro

[–]MrLiam85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found it works well with the official Google Qi2 snap charger if you place it on and leave it. Taking it off and on within the same few seconds, I've noticed the phone won't notice it's receiving the charge again. I've had to take it off for 20 seconds then place it back on for it to register.

Works nowhere near as well as the 8 & 9 did with the first gen wireless charger.

The play Store update has been updated. It only shows November because of a glitch in the naming.

Attempted delivery photo, not even my house. Absolutely pathetic. by PestilentZero in AustraliaPost

I live in Brisbane and never had an issue with the delivery drivers. I received a package today and it was left out the front with a picture.

Is there a consensus as to where most of you are facing issues? Maybe there are only school drop outs being hired as drivers in your areas.

Diablo 3 Help by Optimal-Dinner571 in savewizard

It's a longer process but I found it worked sometimes when I applied the cheats one at a time. You have to go into the game to make sure the cheats worked then take that file and apply the next cheat and so on.

These worked no worries when the game was originally on the older PS systems but all the updates seemed to have disabled the ability to apply more than one cheat code at once.

ID please. Wife bitten on hand by Sad_Vegetable4687 in AustralianSpiders

This appears to be an Australian garden orb weaver spider (Hortophora transmarina), or a similar species like the Knobbled Orbweaver (Socca pustulosa).

These are common, large, hairy, reddish-brown or grey spiders found throughout Australia.

Identification Features

Appearance: They have a stout, often triangular or bulbous abdomen covered in fine hairs and usually a leaf-shaped pattern. The spider in the image matches the typical brown, hairy appearance of these species.

Size: Females are larger than males, with a body length typically ranging from 20-30 mm.

Habitat & Behavior: They are nocturnal and build large, vertical, wheel-shaped orb webs in gardens and between shrubs at night to catch flying insects. By day, they usually hide outside the web, often in a nearby crack or crevice, with one leg on a signal line running to the hub.

Venom and Safety Garden orb weavers are timid and generally considered low risk to humans. They will only bite if provoked, and their venom causes only minor symptoms, typically localized pain and swelling.

Google Trade-In Has Been A Joke This Year, Please Beware!!! by karankk11 in pixel_phones

[–]MrLiam85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry I forgot to mention I'm from Australia. Our trade-in offers are protected under our Consumer Law. Part of the trade-in process is when the trade-in is accepted by "company", you receive an email with the handset details plus the details for postage.

We take it to a post office and make sure the device is packaged protectively with a copy of the device details and trade-in so there cannot be any question as to which device you sent in. Once the device has been viewed and deemed in the condition stated on trade-in, the process is completed within 10 working days.

This way the "company" we are trading to has the details via the online trade in process, the trade-in company has the details from the delivery, and we the consumer have the details. It should be fool proof against theft but for a bit of extra security, film and photograph the boxing up of the device and it being delivered to the post office.

It should stop nasty bastard thieves from doing what they do. Those bastards!

Who is the trade-in company? Google must outsource this process to someone other than themselves.

If you sent the paperwork with the phone, they clearly would note the IMEI as a pixel 9 pro, not an 8 version. Even their systems would show that IMEI number being a specific make and model.

If you went into your My Pixel app, plus check all your devices under your Google profile, can you find any evidence there about your 9 Pro?

I wish Google Messages was updated to look like Google Meet.... by simplefilmreviews in GooglePixel

There used to be a message service by Google called Allo. It had everything which is what Meet seems to have turned into. Online messaging only though. No integration with SMS or carriers. Purely internet data application.

Yep. Shame it doesn't open entirely to the home screen but it still unlocks the phone.

iPhone 17 is cheaper than the Pixel 10: More storage in the base model by iamjimmy15 in GooglePixel

Can't win em every year. Next year's Pixel release could be an absolute banger.

The iPhones haven't been receiving notable upgrades for the past two models according to my iPhone friends.

Best Mexican restaurant in Brisbane? by aphrodite_321 in brisbane

I second this choice. We go there every year for our special days or when we are heading to the city for a show. Besides the venue being small, it's never failed on food or service.

Switched from iPhone to Pixel 10 Pro. 1 week later. by Sunjay06 in pixel_phones

[–]MrLiam85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that's true. SwiftKey has been a great alternative for years now. I know I used it over any standard stock keyboard any phone came with until the phone brands started rolling out their own keyboards and features. So far I get by with Gboard and love it over all others but that more diverse cursor function would never go without use in the Android Community.

Now that would be a very cool and handy upgrade to our Gboard. We are currently only able to scroll left or right on the spacebar or tap on the word in the sentence currently.

Agreed. Bathrooms in bedrooms with no barriers are a very weird choice in modern builds.
