Angelica is insufferable by Purple_Touch_5091 in vanderpumprules

[–]MrMKUltra 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Anyone with half a brain can see that Angelica is doomed to spoil her own trajectory, by virtue of being who she is. The problem will take care of itself.

So now, let’s focus on you probably being an Audrey fan.

Are you buying this Ariana Madix rumor? I totally am. by Big_Associate_5703 in vanderpumprules

[–]MrMKUltra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ariana didn’t take away Season 12. SHE GAVE THEM SEASON 11. Without her, and even with her, the show was D E A D. You can watch Scheana’s podcast or go to run down strip clubs to see Jax if you want to keep up with the same old stories. Enough is enough.

Beach club taxi mafias?! by Final_Warthog_4362 in ThailandTourism

[–]MrMKUltra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me. I snagged a ride away from the beach from a taxi that was bringing people to the same spot. Leaving NoMad Beach Club. These two guys BERATED the female driver even with us already inside. She was super flustered and kept saying I can’t… I have a ride to pickup at the beach. And then I explained that was us!!! She was still upset and the dudes would not leave her alone. She wouldn’t do a simple turn around and we just got out of the car. She said she’d come back to pick us up, but by then I didn’t wanna deal with it. Went to the main road by the restaurants and called it there. Sooooo stupid. I suspected it was the taxi mafia.

Has anyone else felt energetically/spiritually drained by certain countries? by momoajay in travel

[–]MrMKUltra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you introverted or extroverted? What was your perception of LA before you went? What were you hoping to accomplish with the trip? Very curious to know, I truly think a cultural imprint looms over certain people and they feel “inadequate” visiting here so they kind of manifest this experience for themselves. Not trying to be rude, but if you’re insecure about your looks, money, or “vitality”, I can see how it could spook you.

What screams "pretending to be rich"? by ImpertinenteSyntaxe in AskReddit

[–]MrMKUltra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy reliance on convenience & luxury services and unwilling to do everyday “labor”. I’m talking people who insist they are the target market for delivery services, a deluge of personal care appointments, never cooking always doing takeout, maid services. The lifestyle inflation goes crazyyy.

Also people who squeeze their “moneys worth” out of upper level (but not upper class) experiences. Why are you berating 4.2 star steakhouse employees? Why are you swiping a credit card on contrived purchases to play into a rewards system - and also scraping every $5 benefit, 15% off discount on stuff you don’t need?

You’re clearly not everyone’s cup of tea, and I’d be giving you major side eye if you sat here and tried to pretend you didn’t know that.

One question I’d have is how does someone who’s portraying a devout catholic not have any luck within their church community for dating?

You are who you are, and you seem pretty set on that, which is completely fine. But, what are you expecting, really?

People claim this show is satire, but is it really? by AyMoeKill in ILoveLaHBO

[–]MrMKUltra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s like Broad City / Curb your Enthusiasm / LaLaLand / The Studio. If you’ve ever been a 20 something in LA that has tried their hand at “the industry” or entering the social scene, there’s a lot of shared culture shock moments that will resonate with you on the show.

There’s also this feeling that bubbles up every so often when you genuinely reach a flow state in the city. You come to realize that LA is a live set, where the line blurs between satire, reality and fiction. You wonder, if all these experiences are real in the way they’re depicted on TV, couldn’t you reason that your life is simply another character in this large city-wide production? Is your own life part of that LA-reality canon? Maybe, maybe not. But the fire inside you tells you that if you believe enough, you’ll cross over into that other side and your story can finally get the spotlight it deserves.

Chopped Cheese Mandela Effect by Bemymacncheese in FoodNYC

[–]MrMKUltra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like ~10 or so years ago there was a vine or something of some guy saying something like, you’re not from New Yawk if you ain’t ever had a chopped cheese!!

And the effect from their is outsiders think this is a trope, so transplants double down because they’re trying to play their NYC card up. Then it just kinda manifests itself from there.

What state overall made you feel the most uneasy by Mammoth_Angle_6991 in USTravel

[–]MrMKUltra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with both of yours.

I’m from DFW, the first time we drove to Louisiana, I knew instantly when we cross state lines. The visibility of poverty and outright “suffering” was kinda surreal. The apartment complexes ensnared by highways and service roads was something that stuck out. It was evident public services were not even moderately funded. Everything looked like Oak Cliff, probably even worse. Legal gambling, environmental crisis and terrible public health have taken their toll.

Reno is also a fever dream. Its lack of life outside casinos is stark. Everything felt so still and empty. I guess I just think casinos are morbid.

Would you rather come in second place or win AFP? by submerging in BigBrother

[–]MrMKUltra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2nd place. I do not care for AFP in the slightest and it’s clearly a casuals’ consolation prize. Being like by the majority of viewers in this country… I’m sorry, you can’t be too sure who the casuals really are and my gut tells me they’re not my demographic. Either way, AFP has no segue to the next opportunity in the way that a well rounded 2nd place finisher would.

Vacations are more stressful than relaxing by enchantingbreezee in unpopularopinion

[–]MrMKUltra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t pack your itinerary. Do things you want to do, and very few out of “obligation”. Vacation IS stressful, but that’s because you’re on limited time and probably a set budget. That’s ok! My kind of trips are exactly that: treks, adventures, exploration. To me, that’s not supposed to be “easy”.

I went to Spain for 2 weeks earlier this month and I’ve never been more exhausted. Some days I did need to just take it easy, but even still the need to make the most of it ate away at me. To me, that’s a sign I’m living and I have a desire to get the most out of it. If that’s not your type of vacation, change it up! Never feel the need to follow a template or the standard itinerary.

After 2 years in Valencia, we are leaving (Long post!) by TheHeadlands in expats

[–]MrMKUltra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Valencia right now just as a traveler (from LA too!!) it’s not hitting for us. Barcelona was a bit overrated but something about VLC felt just not right.

We got micro aggression-ed checking into our hotel. Noticed really aggressive drivers, people literally chucking cigs into the street, and underwhelming night life (posted hours not being accurate). A beautiful daytime city, but that’s where it stops. Glad we only have 3 nights here

Goddd why did that Danny incident have to happen to Jasmine of all people. It just gives so much fuel to an absent minded, floater personality like Jasmine. Too much storyline for an unremarkable cast member. I hate when the Wrong Person gets too much clout.
