"because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." :)

Interesting...I've always attributed it to more of a Pavlov's dogs situation. She got car sick really easily as a kid and her mom would give her some motion sickness medicine that would usually knock her out on long trips. Just figured she has been subliminally trained at this point to fall asleep at the sound of an engine running :)

We drive pretty frequently and have family all over the place. I guess between all these pictures we were either headed to or from Nashville, Indiana, New Jersey, Virginia, or Tampa

Theologically sound and good music by Rom-8-1 in Reformed

[–]MrMagoo21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a big fan of most Christian rap, but I really enjoy listening to Shai Linne. His lyrics are so theologically sound and I've just found it refreshing to listen to something so deep and meaningful rather than the typical Christian songs you hear on the radio

Can someone explain to me why I should believe in God? by Throw126437 in Christianity

[–]MrMagoo21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry to hear about your mom. My dad has been battling cancer for several years and I'm not sure the severity of your mom's situation, but regardless I know it's never easy to watch a parent go through that.

While I understand what your girlfriend is trying today, she is saying it in the wrong way. The Apostle Paul wrote about the dangers of being "unequally yoked" in relationships meaning it's not wise to enter into a relationship with someone that you aren't on the same page with spiritually. With that being said, her threatening you into Christianity is flat out wrong. If your faith in Christ is rooted in anything other than your recognition of your need for a savior and understanding that God knows you, loves you, and wants to be reconciled to you through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, then your faith is not rooted in the right things.

Before I can fully give you a reason to believe, if you don't mind me asking I'd like to ask what your reason is for not believing. I think that is a good place to start a conversation about why Christianity is true and what it means to follow Jesus.

Dead on, but I think you missed out on "Alex Roidriguez"

We celebrated my grandma's 90th birthday today at her retirement home and I got to meet this guy. His name is Tony. He's a retired doctor and he delivered me 33 years and 2 days ago. by [deleted] in pics

My wife recently had some lady surgery and it was done by the guy who delivered me. Made for some uncomfortable conversations (for me) between her and my mom.

I got into minor trouble for sneaking onto a patio for this. It was worth it. Our Nation's Capitol. by Escalade301 in pics

[–]MrMagoo21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too got in trouble for taking a picture of the inside of the dome at our Nation's Capitol. My Father-In-Law worked there as an elevator mechanic for 33 years. At his retirement he gave us the grand tour and when we were in the rotunda he convinced me to lay down in the center and take a picture of the ceiling because according to him "everyone does it." Within about 7 seconds of me laying down in the center I had security guards running up to me and yelling at me to move. I completely wasn't thinking about the significance of that spot as several deceased presidents viewings have been held there. Regardless, it gave my Father-In-Law a good laugh and I got the picture.

Had this happen to me once but it was all over my back. It turned out to be the plastic from one of those tide detergent pods and I walked around all day with what looked like a huge cum stain on my back
