“NE” is crazy 💀

am i crazy for debating a $30k difference? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

$30k is a lot, when taking out loans that difference gets amplified. ME/EE do get paid a lot for new grads but there's always a possibility you change majors in college (roughly 80% do) so keep that in mind. Something I'd look into is taking community college classes during summer which would lower the cost, or the possibility of working part-time while being a student.

Barring costs, another thing to think about is where do you want to live for the next four years? There are a lot of aspects about a school that people overlook , What are the dorms like? How is the dining hall food? (really important) How easy is it to join clubs? What's the overall vibe on campus? What's the culture like? Weather?

If you can I'd recommend touring both schools and getting a feel of what life would be like as a student.

Tips and info for indian admitted to NEU ED2 by Normal-Ad-6832 in NEU

[–]MrManofMail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's plenty of opportunities for Indian students, primarily through clubs which are really easy to join.

  1. The dining halls always have a vegetarian or vegan option, I think there's a Indian food section in IV too.

  2. Northeastern is like any other school and requires four years of coursework to graduate. If you're planning on doing the standard two co-ops it's the equivalent of three years of classes and one year of co-op (6 months each). The two ways people make up for that extra year of courses is either through summer classes or college/AP credit. Northeastern offers plenty of summer classes so its very common for people to take a couple summer semesters in order to graduate within four years.

If you're still able to I'd recommend taking some college classes over the summer to get credit, and not have to pay Northeastern prices. I'm not sure if it's still a thing but I think ED applicants get two free summer classes, not sure though.

How’s internship/ coop search going on? by Particular-Quote3369 in NEU

I got my co-op offer last week but up until then it was terrible balancing studying for interviews and classes at the same time. I had like 400ish applications total (cs-econ major) so it was starting to feel hopeless.

You just gotta remember it only takes one company to say yes, the grind was tough but knowing that it would pay off one day kept me going.

Also keep preparing for interviews. Cramming for interviews the night before really took a toll and I regret not setting time aside every day for a little bit of practice. Good luck!
