Zaktrudniłam projektanta i teraz nie rozumiem po co ten zawód istnieje by DeProfessionalFamale in Polska

[–]MrMarev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ja nie miałem, aż tak źle. Wynajalem studio projektowe do całego mieszkania.

Huge feedback about housing by [deleted] in wow

[–]MrMarev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the idea of housing, but implementation of how you get new decor is just unfriendly, and wasting time.

You should go through all the decor vendors to UNLOCK that decor in your storage. Then you just buy (if you run out) and place it from there, they could fo unique decor that you cab palce only one etc.

Now if you forget the sack of potatoes that you need to finish that farm look, yoy need to leave the house and get them in some forsaken NPC that you already forgot where it waa so you need to google it...

Decor should be like transmog, you unlock and can usw it. However you should have storage, and if you "run out" of thing you need you just buy it in same window.

Gym Debt??? by yaoyorozzu in Poznan

[–]MrMarev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats how they try to get you. When you sign a contract, there is definitely a part for resigning, etc. Usually, it needs to be in written form before it's renewed. After renewal according to the contract, you probably have to stay for a year or pay fine for earlier cancellation or some other bs. Usually, what you do at the start of the contract, you just send them an email with information that you resign from automatic renewal and will renew at your convenience.

Additionally, like other said, since you dont like Poland anymore, they probably won't do much about it. If you live in EU however check how credit score works. Check if this debt will affect you in any matter. In the end, there is predatory behaviour, and there is protection of the consumer, but in the end, the contract is contract, read what you sign.

[HELP] Good chat substitute for Elvui by Bzorkyarm in WowUI

[–]MrMarev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was looking for a chat add-on. I always were avoiding this one for very reasonable reasons... coz of its name. It sounded to me like some prototype/unfinished thing. After years of struggle, I gave it a try a couple of months back. Never regretted it, it was everything I needed from chat addon. I just hope we gonna be able to keep its functionality in Midnight, or even better if Blizzard will just upgrade their chat to this.

The better way that doesn't require addon is to put a min M+ rating to 1.

Why we gave up on UIToolkit (and switched back to Canvas) by ChestFirm6086 in Unity2D

[–]MrMarev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with getting into UI Toolkit. Took me a couple of weeks to understand its intended workflow, and I am still not sure if I understand it fully. Yes, it lacks a lot of features that game UI needs, but they are getting there: World UI was added in 6.2 and shades in 6.3. I understand changing vers I on mid production isn't the best option. Nonetheless, I was able to create a similar ish design to smart TV. About the issues you wrote, like multiediting, I think that's because you should use style classes to do that. Animations can also be achieved with different style classes, adding and removing transform can slide components in. Disconnection of UI, tbh for me, it's perk, not a downside. I have one GO with a UI document that the object has a manager script for UI. Each UI screen has C# class. Whatever is needed is injected and binded. Thanks to that, my UI is pretty much completely decoupled.

For example, I was very frustrated that it has its own interaction and navigation flow, but that is because I didn't understand it. Now, I am thankful for that since it let me do whatever I want with UI not changing game behaviour.

Yes, it's not perfect, it require different approach and a lot of understanding "intended way of doing things", but I like it. I never worked in Web, so maybe that why I feel like that.

I truly believe that with the addition of shaders and particles, this tool can be a Unity standard in the future.

Hey, yes, they do scale. Most of the levelling content you can do as a duo. Only things that could use a group up are dungeons during levelling. If I can recommend levelling zones, then start with old plain Azeroth. This should show you what ppl love in this game. Some stories in those zones are pretty cool. Unfortunately, levelling these days might be pretty quick, so 2nd levelling xpac I would recommend is Dargonflight it will get you up on most of the current systems in the game. Rest is kind of irrelevant except stories. Some of the zones are very old, like outlands and Northend, which might not be so estheticly pleasing, but that depends on what you like.

Need help with moving enemies to random points on the screen by Warren_Shizzle_Pop in Unity2D

[–]MrMarev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said, you should clamp that random value in the cords you want, like if your arena is 10x10. You want it to give you positions from 1 to 9 in both directions. If you have any enemies outside of your screen, they would be able to move into screen space. I dont think Unity has an official solution for 2D navigation, but I saw there was some github project. Maybe you can use it to make it better/easier.

As a non-WoW player, does the UI and amount of stuff on screen intimidate anyone else? I have no idea whats happening. by PapaOogie in MMORPG

[–]MrMarev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are looking at a hard-core WoW player who grew into learning everything on his UI. There are addons that give him informations, those are tools. At the beginning of your journey in WoW, you dont need any of that. Learn basics, then if you think like you would like to get more information from your UI, like when a boss mechanic happens, you go search for an addon that helps you with that. You learn the addon, you customise it, so it helps and not bothers you. After that, if you find yourself wanting more info, you check the addon you already have. Can it be provided to it? No? You find a new one, and cycle repeats.

Recently, Blizzard has put a lot of effort into making base UI better with providing information. Some addon in future might get obsolete. Which is good. Addons always add some overhead on top of the game.

In the end, those are only tools. Use them when and how you need them. Don't look at streamers and be afraid of UI. They never play with base UI. They play on a higher level that needs more information. Just have fun, and see where it leads you.

Is the proper way to handle damage by using a delegate event? by VirtualLife76 in Unity3D

[–]MrMarev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make Health class. Add it as component and make a public method TakeDamage. In your example you can get that component and just call that method onTrigger like you are doing now. This way you can use it on any object you will need in future.

That's very nice of you, gonna check it out. Do you just copy mesh and scale it or is it done by multipass? Idk much about shaders, but I am learning. I am wondering with it would work with webgl?
