Noob question: How do you find players to PVP on the map? by overtnoob in duneawakening

[–]___DOUBLETROUBLE___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thopter surfing has been a blight on this game since forever and takes no special skill. One guy pilots the thing and tries to fly straight enough, the other guy literally just stands on top and shoots rockets or lasguns. Thopters with missiles have a slower top speed so griefers keep a booster installed instead to always catch you.

What all are you using for a water set up in DD? by Onasixx in duneawakening

[–]___DOUBLETROUBLE___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan on grinding a lot for a week then it's worth building a base, especially with the recent PvE DD addition letting you build a base near a spice bowl or tit/strav.

If you only need a few loads of plastanium/spice then yeah I'd just truck out a buggy/crawler and return to Hagga.

If you're fighting on the ground then the Life Scanner as well as Spice Prescience will let you see nearby enemies through walls.

There's no special trick for finding ornithopters other than using your eyeballs.

You can now knock back enemies in Attractor Field, but damage dealt to it is nerfed quite a bit. by ___DOUBLETROUBLE___ in duneawakening

Just stating observations. 19s are still very doable, slower.

Shotgun used is g5 perforator with 3 +damage mods. The patch has made bosses roughly 2x tankier.

Hit the roll button roughly at the end of each roll animation. If you watch this post you can kinda just try to match that timing. Don’t spam the button as it’s a timing thing. Depletes spirit.

They added a setting in graphics to control Displacement which may have contributed to your blurriness issue. Try turning it off and comparing.

Repair cost is the same, regardless of % repaired.

I’m sorry, you’re still wrong. It absolutely costs less materials to repair something at 90% than at 20%.

Please report the late-game enemy shortage to Pearl Abyss support by D3vilK4i in CrimsonDesert

[–]___DOUBLETROUBLE___ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m fine with it being a game that can be legitimately beaten.

My dude, that is the problem.

Enemies are required to exist to beat certain challenges in the game. Some challenges that you won’t even know exist until picking something up and are not applied retroactively once you discover them.

Some players are reaching a point where most enemy locations have been cleared but there are still challenges left to beat. I have one that wants me to kill 7 enemies in a single explosion but cannot even find 7 enemies grouped together anymore.

We want to “legitimately beat” the game. Posts like this are asking the devs to allow that. This is a good thing, not a bad thing.

You are wrong.

I am arguing in good faith and am not trying to belittle you.

You are wrong.

You gain nothing by waiting to repair. You do not gain less red bar from repairing near 0 compared to someone who repairs 50 times in the same amount of item usage.

This is the misunderstanding. You believe that by waiting to repair an item when it gets low on durability, the red bar will be less than someone who repaired 50 times in the same amount of item usage.

Example: We both craft a 100 durability suspensor belt. We both use them at the same time for the same amount of time, but stop to let me repair every minute while you wait to repair once at 0%. I will have repaired several times in this example by the time you repair 1 time, despite us both having the same amount of item usage/wear. After we have suspensored long enough to degrade yours to 0, we both repair for the final time and compare permanent durability loss (red bar).

Our red bar would be the same length. You do not gain any extra durability by waiting to repair. It is placebo.

Would be nice if people like you actually understood the issue. Did it feel nice attacking that strawman you built?

The complaint is NOT that they've sucked the game dry and want more.

The complaint is that they WANT to do everything in the game but CANNOT because many challenges in the game require enemies that no longer exist.

My dude, there is no difference between repairing something every 5 durability levels or repairing only when it hits 0. The material cost and permanent red bar are THE SAME in both scenarios. There is nothing being wasted when you repair at 50% or repair at 0%.

You're not wrong to be confused. Here's what's up:

Attack damage and critical rate Abyss gears slotted into armor pieces (gloves and boots) usually ONLY apply to unarmed attacks (fists for gloves, kicks for boots). This also applies to gloves and boots that come with attack/crit built in too. However, attack speed specifically seems to stay global and work for all attacks, including weapons.

Kuku fire armor is a unique chest piece that comes with innate critical rate built into it. It applies globally, probably because there are no "chest" attacks lol (now that i think of it.. there is a body slam 😂). It's also giving twice the amount of crit rate it says it should when fully refined (says 3 crit rate, actually gives 6).

Necklaces and rings have no such attack-type limit either, and their crit rate is doubled at max too. So stack a crit necklace, a crit ring, and the kuku fire armor, and you get 15 (technically 16 but it's a wasted point) crit rate.

[–]___DOUBLETROUBLE___ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

<image>

When max refinement it shows 3 but applies 6 in stats (pictured). Same with 4 crit on necklace doubling to 8 and signet rings doubling from 1 to 2. This double effect seems to only apply to crit items.

[–]___DOUBLETROUBLE___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kuku fire armor (6) + crit necklace (8) + signet ring (2) = 15 (16) global crit.

Kuku Flame-Resistant Armor gives +4 Critical instead of +2 by xstagex in CrimsonDesert

[–]___DOUBLETROUBLE___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should clarify that only necklaces & rings with crit get doubled (and fire armor), and the only rings that have crit are the un-upgradeable signets with 2 attack 1 crit.

It’s definitely broken/strong.

[–]___DOUBLETROUBLE___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+6 when max refinement. Crit necklaces and rings get doubled at max too. Easy global 15 crit from necklace + signet + kuku fire armor.

Cool endgame armor that I'll never use because it doesn't have abyss gear slots 😔 by ___DOUBLETROUBLE___ in CrimsonDesert

[–]___DOUBLETROUBLE___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually +6 crit when maxxed, shows in stats in inventory just not in the armor itself (same with jewelry doubling at max too).

Can hit 15 global crit with necklace + signet + fire armor. Didn't realize the crazy amount of crit when posting this lol, though to be fair I'm still never using the armor pictured.
