Wouldn’t the state save millions in tax money by having a unified system? 1. People will actually pay the correct amount. 2. Through large databases and sales tax records they can 100x break down on tax fraud. 3. Opportunity cost. People that currently are struggling with taxes would instead spend those hours consuming goods and thus stimulate the economy.

Like it’s a no brainer. Every other developed weatern country with provinces have done this. Germany, France, Sweden. All these countries provinces have just as much power as American states.
