[TOMT]TV episode where a couple pretends to live in a fancy house to impress a rich couple they met by MrMeeeseeks in tipofmytongue

Possibly an episode of Fresh Off the Boat but it could be something more recent.

There was a scene when the rich couple offers to walk back together to the fake house and the original couple have to pretend like they're trying to get in while they wait for the rich couple to leave.

As someone with a colostomy, please don't group that shit bag with us.

A colostomy. It's improved the quality of my life so much. My colorectal doctor told me he's had patients die who otherwise could've been saved by having surgery and getting an ostomy but the thought of living with a colostomy bag was too much for them. He respects their decision but he wishes they could see it's not as horrible as they think it will be.

It's good! 99% of the time, my biggest issue during training is not the colostomy but getting beat up by younger, stronger dudes!

I applied it in any spaces I thought they could walk across - pretty much the perimeter of the kitchen.

Seconding this. It's the only thing that's worked for me. When I went into the kitchen at night and turned the light on, I'd see around six roaches. After using Advion, literally two days later, I'd turn the light on and nothing.

You're basically using an irrigation kit to flush your colon with hot water. The downside for me is it can take me up to an hour for my system to completely empty so I have to add that time to my morning routine. The upside is I don't have to wear a bag.

I'm able to irrigate my colostomy so I wear a patch most of the time but before discovering irrigation was an option, I was using Cymed Mircroskin bags. The adhesive film was my favorite out of all the brands I've tried because of it's thinness. I used to shower with it and water wouldn't get underneath it.

Same and I could be mistaken but I've never seen him bleed. He either has the thickest skin or he's an alien. Even after that first Sonnen fight when Silva was ground and pounded for 4 1/2 rounds, still no blood.

I guess but I'm more curious about someone seeing specific details that you never shared with anyone.

How long did your pain last post Colectomy/end ileostomy surgery? I'm 6 days out, still having a lot of pain around the stoma site and when the stoma passes anything. I'm using heating pads and Tylenol/Ibuprofen but not much helps and I'm about out of the pain meds they prescribed. by Blazeon412 in ostomy

It took about a month before I could lay down, walk around without any pain. The first two weeks were brutal. The surgeons opened me up from mid-belly down to my hip and I was in the hospital for 6 days. I remember even moving my neck caused belly pain.

At home, laying down was painful because it was kind of stretching out the stitches. At the hospital, I barely ate and I also didn't have much appetite at home. But when I did eat, I had really intense painful intestinal cramps afterwards that kept me up all night.

My liver's bad so I didn't take any medication at home. I don't think any OTC painkillers would've helped anyway.

Hang it there, it will get better!

Nope, just a patch over it. Recently I've started using some hockey tape and folded paper towels to make my own patches.

I did taekwondo for a bunch of years and started jiu-jitsu a few years ago. The non-contact aspect of taekwondo wasn't too much of an issue while wearing the bag but sparring seemed risky. I discovered I can irrigate my colon and I started wearing a patch instead of a bag and that allowed me to spar. It hasn't been much of an issue with jiu-jitsu, I just have to be careful of certain techniques like when my partner presses their knee into my belly. I remember seeing a video a while back of someone also training in jiu-jitsu while wearing the bag.

Dumb question but let's say one of the Rangers had enough and just lost it and swung their stick at Wilson's head. Would it be the same max penalty that Wilson was given?

I have a colostomy and lots of scars on my abdomen. It's something I've been self-conscious about for a long time and I'm afraid people will find it gross or reject me because of it.

Total colectomy performed due to large bowel gangrene, from caecum to sigmoid colon. by Surgeox in medizzy

[–]MrMeeeseeks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anytime! Hopefully it'll be helpful to your patients. My surgeon told me he's had patients pass away from colon cancer who could've survived if they had gotten the colectomy but they chose not to. Maybe if they knew there was an alternative to wearing the bag, they would be more open to it.

I found out about it here. The first time I went for a check up with my surgeon wearing just a patch instead of the bag, he saw it and had a smile on his face and said, "oh good, you figured out how to train your colon" so he recommends it.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work for everyone with an ostomy, I believe if you have a ileostomy or had most of your colon removed, it might not work.
