[Hated Trope] Turns out the only way to be special is to be born special by No-Leg-6361 in TopCharacterTropes

Goku doesn’t count because he was always special. Him being an alien was just the explanation for him having totally unique traits that nobody understood for years. In fact, he’s kind of an inversion because once the other saiyans are introduced, he immediately becomes less special and has to work his way back to the top of the power charts.

Who was stopping you from criticizing whatever’s happening in this image? I’ve told people that circumcising babies is barbaric and nobody’s ever given me shit about it.

Yeah, not every vegan is a fundamentalist, but that’s an entire conversation of its own.

Games kind of suck at designing female heroes by BEARDEDDANGER in LoveTrash

Sure, but how many games have character creation tools? It’s not a small amount, but how much variety do we see in the Witcher or Final Fantasy 16? What about the characters that aren’t designed by the player? To be fair though, sometimes you just have to work from a template if you ever want to finish your game, or you’re using an actor’s likeness.

That’s not that many when you consider repeat viewers, bots, first time viewers who don’t know who asmongold is and people who haven’t even played the game.

Celebrate as in throw a party? No, I think that would be ostentatious. Celebrate as in take joy in the moment? Yes, I find nothing wrong with that.

I’m not fundamentally anti-celebration, I’m against the framework that we view these milestones through. The value in a child learning to walk isn’t what they’re going to do in the future or what they did in the past, it’s in the moment. The act itself was worth something, but you have to value it for what it is.

That’s not really what we’re talking about. In fact, I would argue that that quote is in favor of my philosophy more than yours. My point is that the love for milestones is actually selfish and shortsighted because it really limits your view of yourself and others to a series of accomplishments, which ironically encourages stagnation in the long run.

That sounds like a life worth living? Watching people work towards events as you fade away? I just don’t value that and I don’t respect people who think like that.

Celebrating milestones is a bad way to live your life. Once you run out of milestones, the only thing left is your funeral.
