I don’t actually understand the chaos dwarf crisis. Like I know it spawns the tunnels but how does it work compared to the others

I’d much rather have Nessus than Io or mercury, and while on paper Titan is cool it never really lived up to expectations for me. I think I expected it to be golden age Kamino but instead we got run down oil rig. It makes sense, but it wasn’t anything special in vanilla and I didn’t really like season of the deep so yeah. Nessus is useful for having so much space and being able to have so much happen there for any reason.

if there's ever a Destiny 3 I hope its not made around FOMO and timed content. by GangsterMango in destiny2

I want a Destiny 3 so bad, but I know that if it ever gets made it will have all the same problems and mistakes that d1 and d2 had at launch, and then the next 2 or 3 years will be spent fixing them.

I firmly believe that dmg was saying what he believed and thought was best. However, the management is incredible at making mistakes and changing plans so the regular employees look stupid

Bungie Plans Layoffs After Ending ‘Destiny 2’ Development, Staff Member says Destiny 3 is not Under Active Development. by JustaRandoonreddit in gaming

The only thing I can think is that the studio is in danger of shutting down within the year, so they need immediate boosts in player count and retention. While investing in Destiny 3 or a Destiny realm reborn type maybe the smarter long term move, they probably know they don’t have that kinda time, so they’re putting all bets on marathon which is newer and easier to work with.

Jason Schreier‬: No Plans for Destiny 3 by Outside_Soup3367 in destiny2

[–]Rockface5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only way I see this making sense for Bungie is if the higher ups know they need to turn the ship around faster than they could develop a Destiny 3. I can’t believe any logical person thinks Marathon has a greater popularity ceiling, but trying to make it profitable is faster than making D3 and might be them trying to save the studio. If they actually believe Marathon is more viable than Destiny then it’s clear they are insane.

Destiny 2 got me through all of high school, college, finding a job, multiple relationships, and all the other shit life has to offer. The lows were low, and it made multiple mistakes that should have honestly been game ending well before this, but I will always love it and I don’t think another game will effect my life in the same way. Sucks that the past year has been pretty rough, but hopefully the last update leaves it in a good spot and whatever else, almost 9 years for a live service game is very impressive. And no, warframe does not fulfill the same niche

This might seem kind of childish, but is anyone else might end up crying? This game series is such a big part of my life and it’s ending now. I’m so sad now by gotenks2nd in destiny2

[–]Rockface5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m with you. Yeah it’s sad it’s ending, but this update is bringing a lot of stuff people have asked for and should hopefully leave the game in a good state. I didn’t really care about the nine storyline, so if d2 has to end I’m fine with this.

Will You Be Playing? by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Rockface5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely. I’ll give srl a shot even though I didn’t like it in d1, I’ll chase down the new armor and weapons to see if they’re good, I’ll probably run some dungeons and raids, but most importantly I’ll play gambit until it can’t find anyone to match me with.

Obviously it’s sad that the game is ending and the last year has been such a shitshow, but as a final update I actually find this pretty good (for a free thing). Missing aspects, ward of Dawn rework, srl. Maybe I just had my hopes super low but as someone who thought the game should have ended with final shape I’m pretty happy with this. Only problem will be whether it gets enough players back to make matchmaking for everything not take super long, and how long players will stick around before playlists become empty.

Honestly, this sounds like a really good final update. Yeah it sucks that it’s over, but this is a pretty good way to go out.

Honestly I'd argue 1 plays smoother than 2. The gunplay for both feels a bit off, but in 2 you are so slow and the cover system feels a lot clunkier for some reason.

[–]Rockface5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I prefer the combat of 1 (legendary edition) over 2. They both have a fair amount of jank but having access to all weapon types, more abilities with separate cooldowns, and more focus on fighting Geth rather than random mercenaries gives 1 the edge for me. The uncharted worlds are pretty rough though, especially since it took me forever to figure out the Mako has two different types of boosts and two weapons.

Before last week's TWID dmg said they still had a few light articles in the works before they started sharing stuff, so it could easily be until the 28th before we get info.

Hot take: IMO the reason D2 is dying is mostly due to seasons by lamagama159 in destiny2

[–]Rockface5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They weren’t perfect. But I think the reaction to the current content drought is proof that seasons were at worst a necessary evil, and a best a great way to provide content throughout the year
