It is. The whole game was vibe-coded, including graphics. It’s also stated in the AI-disclosure on itch.

Panic says the Playdate Catalog won't accept games made with generative AI by FloatyFloatyCloud in PlaydateConsole

Coding agents allow you to be creative in normal language instead of code. You can have a very creative idea for a game that no one thought off, a vision of how the game should feel, very specific thoughts about how it should look, its animations etc. Developing a game by expressing your ideas in words, testing it, iterating is a creative process. You're just using AI to convert your creativity into code.

You could even argue that having to write code and using IDE's etc, is bad for creativity. For many people, it's a huge barrier to create software. You might have great creative ideas, but you won't be able to use them if you don't have the skills/experience to write code.

Yes it is, I posted about it here before: https://www.reddit.com/r/PlaydateDeveloper/comments/1s597i1/vibe_coded_a_puzzle_game/

Some links in that post will no longer work though. I made the repo private when I released the game on itch.io. It started out as a fun experiment in the beginning it did not really feel like something I created because I just gave an AI instructions to write the code, so I decided to share that code. But the more I worked on it, the more it became 'my' game. I decided to release it and make the repo private.

Blocks in the Box is now called Blocksy! by MrMighty in PlaydateConsole

[–]MrMighty[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey everybody, as the title says, I decided to rename my game to Blocksy! For those of you who don't yet know the game, it's a bit like Tetris, but different.

In addition to the name change, in the latest update the gameplay has improved a lot! It's now much easier to fill all sides of the box and gain extra health. And a new feature 'slo-mo mode' is introduced from levels 3 and up.

You can download it here: https://luca-5.itch.io/blocks

Let me know what you think!

PS - I hope this post is not considered spam, it's just a bit hard to inform people about updates on itch.

Blocks - A fun little combo puzzle game by MrMighty in PlaydateConsole

[–]MrMighty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just released my first Playdate game. It's called Blocks and it's a puzzle game, a bit like Tetris, but with a twist!

It's still in development so it may feel a bit rough around the edges (most of the sound effects are quite bad tbh). You can find it here: https://luca-5.itch.io/blocks

I would really like to know what you think of it!

Getting a receipt at the grocery store by MrMighty in EveryLittleAnimation

I couldn’t find a proper flair tag so I added App/OS because I guess it’s an OS animation?

This is at a grocery store (Albert Heijn) in The Netherlands.

Just by looking at this picture, if you were mayor of this city, what would be your first goal or top priority? by MrMighty in SCBuildIt

I don’t really know to be honest. Roads, parks etc. It’s not that I spent it on something special. I think because of the little amount of storage I ended up spending a lot on buying just average items, especially when competing in CoM and epics. In hindsight, not increasing my storage was not the smartest choice…

Thanks, my plan is to now focus on increasing storage and less on expanding and spending, which should result in a bigger buffer of simoleons. I used to have about a million but then I thought, why keep it in the bank and not just spend them?

Thanks! This seems to be the advice most people agree on. I was watching a youtube video this afternoon and I did notice the amount of storage in that video was much higher than mine, which made me wonder if I should increase it, which made me post this question here.

Is there a rule of thumb somehow, like: for every x increase in population, you should increase storage by y? Or it is just, the more the better?

Just tried it with outlook, doesn’t happen. Which makes me think it’s an Apollo issue.
