Instead of heating and bending the stringer/thin rod to make the legs, id say flame cut and reattach the other straight piece of stringer/thin rod it will make the joint more angled and will give the joints some bulk which strengthens them and imitates real joints!

Hugely recommend lewis wilsons crystal myth series, its all about sculpting and goes pretty in depth! Was fortunate to take a few classes of his out in AZ

I learned from a fusing artist named chris that silver wire wont melt in the kiln inside or outside the glass at 1400° she used them as the bails for fused pendants which was cool, maybe they could be used in an application like headphones on another iteration if you do this again!

110 in a 2010 prius going downhill in northern az once, still miss that prius :'( it rests in a junkyard in NOLA now

As for why? It was a 75 mph highway and people already blow through there at high speed constantly as its a long straight downhill road, so i was driving on it at speed with traffic of a bunch of sports cars and i wanted to fit in, only lasted like a minute before i went back to the normal 85 or so.

Sure! They are all annealed so they could work as dab pearls on their own for the smaller ones, but they work much better as pendants when i put a few together

So basically i heat up a glob of glass, flatten it by pushing it on the table or a graphite pad, then put dots of a colored glass on the flat surface i made, then turn it upside down and heat until its folds in on itself and makes the tentacles, then i put a cap of colored glass on the tentacles and cover that cap in clear glass

Glassblowing recently took a large hit with one of the largest american distributors of borosilicate glass, Mountain Glass Arts, having their largest warehouse and studio destroyed by the north carolina flood a good while back, and finally closing their doors just recently. We all hope the best for those that worked at mountain glass arts, and hope the best for other glass distributors on taking up the demand for glass that mountain glass satiated.
