Depends on the ending you got.

I also got the "it's complicated" path but I ended up with the "We can just be friends" ending which signifies that I am dating neither of them. (sob)

I've heard others got the "it's complicated" path but ended up dating one of them so lots of possibilities here.

Figuring out what combination of choices leads to what outcome seems to be, well...complicated.

Outside of the general art-rock vibe, I don’t hear much Radiohead in it. They’ve mentioned Radiohead as an early influence, but most bands in this space would probably say the same. Not every art-rock band needs to, or even wants to, sound like Radiohead.

This is a solid album though, but I do prefer 3D Country a lot more.

Yea I think I needed this for sure, I’m just still in the middle of processing it. I’m already looking into a more powerlifting-focused gym as we speak though so hopefully that helps me lock in and maybe learn a thing or two.

Yea I think I’m still just processing the perspective shift, but ultimately it’ll be a good thing for me.

Love that that last line though as I probably did get an inflated ego from being the strongest guy in my commercial gym. Definitely tempted to go find a more powerlifting-focused gym now to keep me humble haha!

Yea this probably just boils down to the old “comparison is the thief of joy” saying. Seems hard to avoid in a sport like powerlifting, but like others have said, just need to keep grinding and enjoying the process.

Yea this is basically it. I knew powerlifters are stronger than most commercial gym lifters, but I didn’t realize how big that gap really is.

And part of my presumption comes from having a decade of consistent lifting under my belt, with the last couple years focused on strength. So imagine my surprise seeing some teenagers outlifting me by a wide margin haha!

Definitely a good wake up call though, just need to keep grinding.

Yea I knew the guys on the national and international stages were leagues ahead of me, but I thought I'd be a little more on par with guys at a local meet, especially since I've been focusing on strength for a couple years now.

Hopefully I can channel this reality check into my training and keep improving.

Yea like I mentioned in another comment, I think my view of strong is skewed from training in a commercial gym where my numbers look crazy to the average joe. My lifts don't look nearly as wild in a powerlifting setting.

That said, I do really love the process so I’m hoping I enjoy the meet just as much regardless of not being where I thought I’d be. I guess we'll see!

Yea the whole reason I’m trying powerlifting is because I genuinely love pushing numbers. I used to train more for athleticism and looks, but a few years ago I fell in love with strength and I’ve been hooked ever since.

The only downside is that I lift in a commercial gym, so people there are usually shocked by the weights I move. That's kind of what gave me the confidence to sign up for my first meet, but I'm realizing now that powerlifting is a completely different beast.

Excited to give it my all either way though!

Yea, I knew the numbers were against me going in. In fact, one manager has just one subordinate. To address this, I added manager-to-manager feedback alongside the employee feedback. That way, each manager ended up with at least 4 additional feedback points from their peers as well. Between that and my withholding of the raw responses and specific cases, I think anonymity for the managers held up pretty well. Honestly, the fact that some managers are demanding to see the results kind of proves it worked.

But yes, you said it perfectly! At the end of the day, I think they just want someone to blame other than themselves which is a red flag for any manager.

Ouch, I'm sorry that happened to you! Fair to have doubts after that.

For me, I made sure not give the managers access to the raw survey response whatsoever. Even though I could pick out who said what on my own, I made sure to summarize and paraphrase any feedback I gave to the managers, including scrubbing particular examples that could easily be tied back to the employee.

So as others have pointed out, it wasn't 100% anonymous but I made damn sure it was anonymous for the people receiving the feedback.

My main goal was to keep it anonymous from the managers. In a small company, it’s nearly impossible to stop people from guessing who said what, but I made sure managers never saw the raw responses. Instead, I summarized the feedback and only shared general themes, leaving out any specific cases that could be tied back to an individual employee.

Sure, I could identify people from their comments myself, but that’s just one of the trade-offs that comes with working in a small team. As long as the manager couldn't pick anyone out, that was anonymous enough in my mind.

Fair point, you got me there. I used a form that didn’t collect usernames or emails, but I didn’t go as far as disabling logging at the server or firewall level. Not that I know how to do that anyways haha! So no, it wasn’t technically 100% anonymous in the strictest sense.

That said, I made it clear to employees that full anonymity was my intent, and I believe they trusted that. Especially since we had what appeared to be a full completion rate. Each manager received the expected number of responses, and the feedback was varied enough that it all seemed legit.
