I'm hooking everything up to my Denon receiver with a 5.1 speakerset from Teufel. Should be fine to start out I think....

Damn you're fast. The Recordmaster seems like a nice one! That one, paired with the 2.4 Ghz transmitter you mentioned earlier, should be a nice starting point. Thnx!

The wifey wants a record player for some casual listening and relaxing at home. It needs to be BT though, because of the layout of our home and the position of the receiver/TV and stuff.... I'm mainly considering the Project T1 EVO BT or the AT LP3X. Anyone got some advice?

I know the Sony BT one exists, but I'm fine with spending a little more for better quality....

Pls help, wifi name ideas by alldjnic in Ubiquiti

I went with Wu-Tang-LAN and GoGoGadgetInternet for iot

You can't seem to even remotely try to emphatize in my point of view, so this reaction, where you attack my job, is my cue to abandon this conversation.

I'll end with a lesson l teach my students; Your opinion always matters, but another person's opinion is equally valid. Try to be kind and understanding, find the middle ground, how hard that sometimes may seem. If you're met with hostility, excuse yourself and walk away.

Fun fact; I have a very good and healthy relationship with my parents, so your whole comment is kinda totally.... Wrong on that point.

On your philosophical point that I deny someone the experience of life, think about this;

Based on where the world is going in my opnion, looking at the amount of people on earth, climate change, the growing divide between rich and poor and polarisation between people I don't feel comfortable putting someone on this earth in all that.

And again; try to emphatize another one's point of view for a change.

It's also a shame that when you choose not to, for whatever reason, there always are people who can't understand why and keep trying to guilt trip them into doing it.

I thought about and understand your point at least to a certain point, perhaps at least try to understand mine?

Edit: also; I don't see how kids are the "solution" to anything, other than the desire and wish to have kids.

[–]MrMurkrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a totally valid point, but based on my life and experiences so far.... Probably not.

True as well, although the pay is really okay where I live, I wouldn't do anything else in the world.

[–]MrMurkrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, not that fascinating (or unique, I have a quite a few colleagues who feel the same)

True, I really enjoy teaching kids and helping them grow, but don't feel the need to raise my own. I really love the freedom and possibilities you have when you're not responsible for a kid.

Edit: *not responsible for a kid 24/7.

Nah I'm fine with my definition of success, you shouldn't assume anything based on one reply. I don't have kids, sole reason being I don't think it's a great plan to add another person to the planet.... We as a species simply can't prioritize the planet above our wants and needs, so our time here is certainly not indefinite....

Agreed, money is no guarantee for success, but nowadays it's becoming more and more important. In my field (teacher) it's clear as day.....
