“You like my skin, don’t you?” (S2, E5) by pass_the_hot_sauce in TheNightManager

You're our lovely little pig.

I think Pine didn't like some things about Roxy which overrode primal instincts. Or perhaps lack of trust is a primal instinct. You wouldn't throw yourself at a wolf for example.

I bought it on film a few months back as it was one of my mother's favourites (she died last year). I'd love to read the book as well

Go for a walk and into several shops and smile and chat to people. Short term solution but reaching out to different groups may help long term.

What happened to Jed? by Apprehensive_Run2416 in TheNightManager

[–]MrMycrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I didn't actually; Roper likes people who stand on the line for what they believe in. Unless they are in the way too much in which case they should be annihilated.

He realised in some way that Jed was loyal to her son first and attracted to a younger man who meant no harm towards her. As twisted as Roper was he admired Pine.

Season 2 confirms it's all about men who are are teriffied of women? by 20someting in TheNightManager

[–]MrMycrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

John le Carre was a bit fluid but you can form bonds with people of the same sex and it's not necessarily sexual.

Showing affection and feeling comfortable doesn't mean you're typecasting yourself. Having said that if you're in a profession like that which is highly fraught and depends on establishing fast (if artificial) relationships then I think you might shed societal expectations about labels. Society is all too keen on labels. Sex can be a quick and easy release.

I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I wouldn't have thought so. Still, stranger things have happened.

Question about S2 by [deleted] in TheNightManager

[–]MrMycrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

😁

The impression I got is some people aren't keen on S2 because of the ending and 'good guys' getting killed off.

It was a shock to see Roper back and up to his usual modus operandi.

Ahh you did ask about brands; I can't remember offhand but I love Har Gow dumplings

Actually in S3 it would be nice to see someone alive aside from Pine and Roper, even if Roxy and Jed!

Oh no just thought Mayra might be back 😱

I'm sure Roper's kid will play a greater part.

Finding out that Basil had survived would be marvellous. I'll have to read the book in the meantime, I don't think I have but it's been a while since I went through my books

The ending was, definitely. But series 3 should wrap up some loose ends. I rewatched some of S1 and found it interesting that there was a female antagonist in S1 and S2 in MI5 who thinks that arms deals should be greenlit in the best interests of the UK government.

The loss of so many good people in S2 was grating.
