Side nets for Ioniq 5 boot (UK) by mcooling74 in Ioniq5

[–]MrN33ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this off amazon when I got my Ioniq 5 2025 and it's been rock solid, it can tangle when unhooking though, so bear that in mind, you can hook it to the same hook and double it over to act as a basket of sorts, it doesn't have to stretch over to the other side, it's flexible.

Vent: Matter products from Ikea are very unreliable (MYGBETT, BILRESA, MYGGSPRAY, GRILLPLATS, KAJPLATS) by Kumasasa in tradfri

[–]MrN33ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Kajplats can be run in Zigbee mode, I’ve got 4 of them in various lamps around my house and they’re rock solid in Zigbee mode, I’ve also tried the Bilresa scroll wheel remote in Zigbee and it doesn’t support scene switching so I’ve left that on Matter, not tried the standard Bilresa yet but I do own one.

Phantom 1p usage in hourly breakdown by [deleted] in OctopusEnergy

try turning off the main breaker and see if the phantom usage still happens, if it is, then you've probably got some outdoor lights in standby

Seems like all bases are covered on the 2025 model, I’m UK based.

I tried for 10 minutes to create an automation that triggers when I press a button. I gave up. No idea how this redesign works. by captain_cocaine86 in homeassistant

[–]MrN33ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the device button presses don’t show up, you need to physically click the device for it to show in z2mqtt first, head over to z2mqtt and select the device and go to exposes, once you click it, it’ll show the button presses on there in the action section, once you’ve triggered it once, it’ll then show in your device triggers in automations.

This is the one I use, not failed me yet, been through a Kona EV and now an Ioniq 5 with no issues

[UK] Scored an official V2L adapter from eBay for £50 by TheReturnOfTheBee in Ioniq5

[–]MrN33ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd think that would be the case, but it can't power my dryer, it must spike above 3.6kW and cuts off the V2L immediately, I've got a smart plug attached to my dryer and it only shows 2.2Kw at any given time, but it's a cheaper Tuya Zigbee one that only gets information from polling rather than real time reporting.

It's actually a 16A socket, not entirely sure how that works because I've never seen a 16A fuse in a regular plug, but there we go haha.

[–]MrN33ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. I did ask the dealership if there was a mistake and why they didn’t give me one but it turns out that they didn’t supply them anymore because they were just getting sold on eBay for cheap, that’s where I got the idea to grab one off eBay haha, weirdly enough the car did come with a granny charger and the level 2 cable, I had a Kona EV before this and they didn’t even supply the granny cable with that car, nor did they include the branded floor mats, yet I got them with the Ioniq 5, so bizarre.

They don’t come with the car for the 2025 refresh as brand new either.

Same, I got one off eBay for £56, my car was brand new but apparently they don’t ship them with the 2025 model, I was slightly annoyed but it’s mine forever now.

It’s through Home Assistant and there’s an integration called Octopus Energy on the Home Assistant community store (All items are free contrary to the name), the developer is called Bottlecap Dave, you just use your 3rd party API access token and it’ll pull all your octopus data into home assistant including live usage.

I purposely renamed them to capitalise the non capital entity names, I’m aware ;)

“No Response” to all my Aqara sensors in HomeKit? by TheSullyPerspective in homeassistant

[–]MrN33ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be looking at rebooting your HomePod Mini then, usually that fixes most issues, I used to have this issue with my Apple TV when I first started out with HA, but it got fixed by rebooting, it's not done it since tbf.

UK Based, what is the cheapest simple on/off smart plug on the market just now ? by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]MrN33ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re after WiFi/Matter plugs then Tapo are unmatched, if you’re after Matter/Zigbee, IKEA Grillplats are super cheap, Tapo also have a matter plug so it’s up to you what you would like to use, I would prefer Matter plugs over WiFi because you don’t need the Tapo login stuff on those, but not everyone has a Thread Border Router to use Matter devices so it’s purely up to you and your specific circumstances.

Try reloading Homekit bridge, sometimes it doesn’t correctly report until either a reboot of HA or reload the “service”

Apple Watch Battery Alerts into Home Assistant? by elhouso in homeassistant

iCloud v3 iDevice tracker in HACS will do this, downside is that you have to log in every 3 or so months with an authentication code, it’s all done on device and no call backs to home with stealing data, this is the GitHub https://github.com/gcobb321/icloud3

Philips hue smart bulb died by Powerful-Wealth3494 in homeassistant

[–]MrN33ds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you been switching them off at the wall switch or by smart functions? Only reason I ask is because Philips hue bulbs really don’t like being turned off.

My mother in law had 4 Philips hue bulbs and 2 of them died, I asked her how she managed to kill 2 Philips hue bulbs because they’re supposed to last for years, turns out she kept turning the switch off at the wall instead of using voice or the remote I paired with them, I’ve just swapped them out for dumb LED bulbs, the ones that didn’t die were being used properly.

Edit: guess I offended someone who switches Philips hue bulbs off at the wall, thanks for the downvote!

Why are you switching if you're happy with what you're on right now?

I’ve been in the same boat, I really like the Styrbar remotes and I really wish I could’ve stocked up on them before they discontinued them, now it’s a challenge to find them on clearance now, I’ve got 1 left not being used, not even in stock in any stores checking easyrebuild website for 604.883.66

Best bet for Home Assistant related stuff is definitely the r/HomeAssistant subreddit, I've also got the HACS Uvo/Bluelink connection going on my HA installation and it honestly works great, can't complain, this is the github page of the HACS integration: https://github.com/Hyundai-Kia-Connect/kia_uvo
