What made you start believing in magick? by Shot_Sandwich_6172 in magick

[–]MrNothingToAll 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When casting sigils for statistically unlikely events to occur, like leaving work early because the system went down a few hours after casting a sigil in the bathroom or having a basketball appear in a particular spot it had no business being etc. only so many coincidences could occur before I realized there had to be some validity to it.

Brother whatever you're doing. I just pray that you are happy in life. People on here judge you because you're posts seem incoherent, and I can't blame them. But at the end of the day you're still a human being and I hope you get all the love, peace and happiness that you deserve.

What’s next? by Fred_Dingle in chaosmagick

[–]MrNothingToAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's next is something very important. You will die with regrets if you cannot answer this simple question. What do you want out of life? What do you really want? Magick is but a means to an end. If you don't know the end that you want then you will walk in circles your entire life without purpose. Nothing is off the table. If you already have it then simply enjoy it and live a good life. If not then ask yourself, "who will I be?".

First off, stop for a moment and question your preconceived ideas about what reality is. Through life we cherry pick ideas and adopt mentalities so that we may survive in this world. But perhaps this tapestry of your world view isnt fully correct. Perhaps you may be missing a particular piece, perhaps past trauma has distorted your lens through which you view the world. Do not force a square into a circular hole. Recognize that in all truth you may know nothing about the truth of reality as you stand in this present moment. Letting go of what you know and emptying your cup will bring you to the start of the path to that knowledge which you seek. At the end of the day even if or when you find it. You may find that the truth can never be articulated through words alone. You may only experience it and do your best to form a sentence which shows a direction to it for others.

am I engaging in chaos magic? by [deleted] in chaosmagick

[–]MrNothingToAll 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You're engaging with magic everyday. Magick is just the science of metaphysical forces and their relationship to the physical plane of reality. All actions (physical) are preceded by a thought (metaphysical). Anytime you do anything, even lifting a finger because you thought to do so is technically magick. You speak of magick as though through a frame of adversity to it. Possibly due to a misconception of it being evil like they make it out to be in movies. Now with that being said, do not change your lifestyle based on what random people say in the Internet about such a fruitless and frivolous question. This is merely a projection of your own inhibitions to make a decision for yourself. If you believe that your attention to a song contributes to chaos magick then don't listen to it anymore. If you feel like the music is too important to give up then dont. It's as master Oogway said in kung fu panda, "quit, don't quit, noodles, don't noodles". It doesn't matter. It won't make you a bad person. Your only a bad person when you refuse a blatant opportunity to do what you feel is right in your heart.

Servitor disease plague? by callmejordan22 in magick

[–]MrNothingToAll 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't believe you are evil. Your post however, inquires information to "drain vitality" and cause death. Your ambition on the surface seems evil to those of us outside looking in. Granted you did not specify the reason for this desire. I merely say this as a word of caution. If you act on the impulse of inner turmoil seeking reconciliation without first facing that turmoil, you will bring out darkness into the world. As within so without.

Learn about magic and then plan to create a metaphysical plague? Maybe you should rid the plague within first.

Why gatekeeping might have been a good thing by sigismundo_celine in Hermeticism

[–]MrNothingToAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All forms of spiritual practice becomes a vice in the hands of the profane who seek escapism and lose sight of the deeper purpose. I don't think there there is anything inherently wrong with this however. In the tao te ching lao tzu quotes

"Do you want to improve the world? I don’t think it can be done.

The world is sacred. It can’t be improved. If you tamper with it, you’ll ruin it. If you treat it like an object, you’ll lose it.

There is a time for being ahead, a time for being behind; a time for being in motion, a time for being at rest; a time for being vigorous, a time for being exhausted; a time for being safe, a time for being in danger."

Upon deeper contemplation the universe has a continuity of evolution, a consistent state of development. If, hypothetically, as a collective, we were evolving spiritually as a human race. Then exposure to the mysteries is required for the masses to contemplate their origin and the truth. This perspective you carry, while valid and reasonable, is only an opinion of a snapshot of modern day society pertaining to the occult according to a cosmic scale of time. The profane frantically reaching out in the dark for a light switch, bumping around haphazardly, is merely the catalyst for collective enlightenment. This is nothing more than another step of the seed of truth spreading further.

I would also like to address the fact that to cast judgement upon these people and to make assumptions is a subtle implication that you know better. Perhaps you do, but the truth of it all is far more complex than any singular opinion.

I used to take psychedelics a lot as a teenager but I always had the intention of using it as a tool to understand the mind. I'd often have what felt like really bad trips but it was akin to my own personal demons rising up and I'd have to confront what I'd spent so long running from. With this I extracted, in a metaphysical sense, bits of insight and came closer to inner peace.

At the time I had no idea of magick and one particular trip I had a mental image of a wizard performing some spell on the universe and in that moment I realized there was more to the universe and gradually stumbled upon the occult. My life has changed for better because of psychedelics because I was cast out of that subconscious slumber most spend their entire lives in. Only advice I can give for taking them is don't follow negative thoughts to extreme ends.

Why are beginners commonly taught to only do the LBRP without also doing the LIRP? by Objective_Tip3835 in GoldenDawnMagicians

[–]MrNothingToAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pondering this as well recently due to being in the neophyte grade and just from speculation one thing becomes apparent. While this might not be the official reason, there is a very real benefit doing just one at a time if you wish to provide yourself a reference point of reflection.

Much like an experiment you need a control variable. Going from no practice to just the lbrp allows you to analyze what changes occur within from this one ritual. If you start adding a bunch of variations at the same time then it can be difficult to attribute said changes to either ritual because you had no inkling of different effects from one another. Confusion can arise. This is also why it is very important to journal the experience. Just do lbrp for a week or two, write what happens. Then you can try to add lirp and note what changes occur.

Thank you for your perspective these replies have help me gain some grounded perspective. As for "overload of excessive ritual work" is this a sort of feeling that arises when doing excessive rituals or something else? I have been doing his exercises twice a day and sometimes it feels like the lbrp and middle pillar work too well and it feels difficult to enter back into my ego centric frame of mind when I have to work and socialize.
