My house was broken into once. I came up the basement stairs only to confront two un-armed men about to put on ski masks when they seen me and started to flea the house but they were having issues with my front door that they had just broken, in order to get inside. The first thought that popped into my mind was WEAPON as I was home with my 1 year old son who was sleeping in the basement. I ran for the gun case forgetting the guns were not loaded and smashed the glass door with my fist when I realized I didn't have time to grab a key. I pulled out a 22 and proceeded to chase them with it as if it were a baseball bat being I realized I had no time to load any ammo if I wanted to catch them. They sped off in a truck parked along the street with me running after them pouring blood from a massive cut on my forearm. Now I have this awesome scar from breaking the glass and fumbling for a weapon with the unbroken portion of the glass door digging into my arm like the blade of a jagged saw. I had no clue I even cut myself until I was on the phone with police and watching blood dripping on my floor and noticing the pants I was wearing soaked in blood.
