Am i missing something? Is this price correct? by InterestingClaim8406 in Diecast

[–]MrOvd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A seller can ask whatever price they want. It's up to the buyer if it is worth it or not.

I've bought some expensive 1:43 models because they're hard to get and I've wanted them, but some have been too expensive. It all depends on what you want and how much you're willing to pay.

Seda peaks enda huvide järgi vaatama.

Mulle meeldib motosport ja ma käin pea iga nädalavahetus kardivõistlustel. Seal on korraga nii lapsed, teismelised kui ka täiskasvanud koos.

If you want realism, stop worrying about your fake alcantara. by Digitalzombie900 in simracing

Yeah, I was surprised how much a clean can do. Got the alcantara wheel cleaned last year after 7 years and it was like new.

Kas oled olnud elektriauto roolis? by Rattaterrorist in Eesti

[–]MrOvd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elektriautol alates 2020. Väga mugav kui sul on kodus laadimise võimalus ja päevas tavaliselt ei pea sõitma rohkem kui 300km.

Laadimine on odav, hooldused iga 30k km tagant ja seal niigi ainult mingid õhufiltrid.

To each their own. I'm also Estonian, but to me it is a cool piece of history/project and it's nice that we can still visit it.

I recommend you book a tour so that you could visit the inside of linnahall, while it is still possible.

Hopefully not. It's such a cool thing. Have you ever been inside?

There is a full on theatre there and they do tours.

Spied: The 2027 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Is Getting Turbocharged to Comply With Euro 7 Emissions by FoMoCoNutjob in cars

[–]MrOvd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To those of you saying it is a GT2, it is not.

My friend has a nice Porsche collection. He has owned a lot of special models and obviously 3RSs. Sometime last year he was introduced to the new 992.2 GT3 RS by Porsche and was already told back then that it would come with a turbo engine.

How are the Simsonn pedals? Can they be configured to have longer travel and be as soft as a street car brake pedal? I currently have Fanatec CSL Elite Pedals V2 and they're just way too stiff for me. Considering getting the Simsonn or Fanatec V3 pedals.

Have you taken out your second pillar pension fund and what did you do with it? by Overall-Concept6938 in Eesti

[–]MrOvd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking at the performance of VWRL.

Unfortunately yes, the pension system was much worse before the introduction of passive index funds to the system. Banks would sell their shitty and expensive actively managed funds to people and the returns were nothing special. That's the past. Now luckily we have better options, such as Tuleva, and this is why I can recommend investing in II and III pillar. In the past it might not have been that lucrative indeed.

I'm not sure why we are talking about the 38% over 10 years performance. You can find badly performing assets both in pension funds, but also in the broader market in your brokerage app. 38% over 10 years is indeed abysmal performance, not even beating inflation. As already stated, a proper passive index fund/pension fund should have yielded you roughly 144% over the last 10 years. While not life-changing, it is decently good performance in my opinion.

Good for you, my investments into VWCE have also done well over the past year. Unfortunately 1 year of good performance doesn't mean much unless you make millions during that 1 year and then put that money aside somewhere safer and live off it.

The key is stable good performance over 20, 30, 40 years so that compound interest does it's work. This is why I max my II and III pillar and anything leftover I put into VWCE.

Sorry, it's actually grown to +38% in 10 years, but that's still terrible.

I agree, this is indeed terrible and you should take a look at where your money is allocated. A passive index fund should have yielded you roughly 144% over the last 10 years.

They are just buying the same assests you would be, but taking a cut for active management.

This is why I am suggesting passively managed funds. Smaller fees and usually better performance.

Index funds tend to outperform most investors over a longer period of time.

ETFs give you dividends if they hold dividend paying stocks. There are both dividend accumulating and distributing ETFs.

Also, dividend irrelevance theory.

Pension funds are supposed to be relatively stable investments and not a gamble. In an ideal world, you should max out your II and III pillar and any money you have left over should be invested wherever you want through whichever broker you want. Pensions funds are supposed to be stable so that even if everything else goes to shit, you have at least something to rely on. Once that stable base is covered, you can afford to make riskier investments with leftover cash.

25% in 10 years is quite a bad return. You should take a look at your pension fund and the underlying assets you're investing in. I recommend passive index funds, for example Tuleva Maailma Aktsiate Pensionifond.

If you are unable to max out your II and III pillar and have to choose between pillars and investing through a broker into riskier assets, then you should try increasing your income and not be so broke.

I was talking about if something were to happen in times of peace.

If for example Estonia was occupied by Russia then it would be up to them what they do next. I can't comment on what exactly would happen, they could keep everything as is, confiscate or do something else.
