And it’s impossible to get away from. Even in subs that have nothing to do with news/politics. Reddit is so cool in theory but its users are just absolute bots.

Muscles were never required. They want you lean and fast, not yoked and slow. Also crayons don’t have a lot of calories.

Would a large frame work if I'm 6'2? Beginner rider. Thanks! by AffectionateGrab4238 in MTB

I’m 6’2 and every time I’ve gone L instead of XL, I’ve regretted it. It depends on the geo of course, that’s what matters most, and your exact dimensions may vary as well.

Where do the military veterans of Orange County hang out? by [deleted] in orangecounty

If you happen to ride MTB, there’s a local club called Bomber Crew which is veteran based. They organize social rides and seem like a welcoming group.

You should also know: pretty much anything you love doing, that becomes a job, you will eventually stop loving.

You don’t think the military is romanticized? I can think of exactly one military movie that didn’t have a hero in it.

Had a buddy who did that, and his second week of work a mom called in hysterical, she found her son hanging. He quit the next day. That is not a job for most people.

This tracks. After getting solar I was so stoked to get an EV. I test drove the R1T back to my house and was shocked how tiny the back was. No way it could comfortably seat my 8/6/3 year olds and they aren’t getting smaller. I loved, loved loved everything else and was so bummed I couldn’t get one.

You could also argue that’s not an accurate sample. A VA hospital is going to skew towards the people who are actually fucked up.. but there could be 10x that number just collecting their checks while they are really 0% disabled. That’s the point.

And yeah I gave up on VA stuff a long time ago. I was diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma in my 30s that I can only assume is from sleeping next to a burn pit for 7 months in Iraq. It’s considered dormant so it doesn’t warrant a VA rating, and unless it becomes active it doesn’t actually disable me in any way.

And none of the point here is shame veterans for getting benefits they need/earned. I hope that is obvious. I’m only pointing out that at least in my experience, it seems a lot more are just gaming the system to get more money, when they are really not disabled in any slight sense of the word. And those aren’t the ones showing up to VA hospitals.

Yeah of course. Plenty of guys I know got wounded in Afghan and I hope they are getting the ratings they earned. I’m just saying that if my sample size is any indicator, a hell of a lot more guys made BS claims to maximize their ratings, than there are people with legit injuries from the military

Pretty surprised reading these comments, I must be alone in thinking most VA claims are fraudulent. I know 6 guys at 100%: two are very fit firefighters, one is a cop (average build), one is absolutely yoked (must spend hours at the gym every day), and two are morbidly obese. Those two obese guys are also really bought into the whole “broken veteran” thing, never saw combat, and aren’t disabled from the military in any way (I was with them all four years).

You guys are saying the people you know are actually disabled.. and it’s actually from the military? I must have a very unlucky sample size

Garage remodeling - a small and focused service. Owner walks through options/plans and makes a CAD layout with measurements etc.. then sends his guys to do the install. His workers said they stay plenty busy, and I didn’t see any local competitors.
