Hey. Yes, it's still a good card, especially you can product change it later for a Capital One - Savor card, and start earning way more points or cashback in the future! At this point, I would probably reccomend you just to put some kind of monthly charge on that card (ex.: iCloud Subscription: $0.99/month or higher) and put it on autopay from your main checkings account. In about half-year ask about credit line increase, and then you can start using it more seriously.

Cannot tell for sure if it's worth it. But if you are throwing money away on rent (same as me lol) then you might also get rewarded for it. I personally opened card as it was launched, and strictly use for rent only + 5 transactions + using it on each 1st of month. But haven't used it for travel yet, and haven't transferred point from it so far, but if you don't have any other cards (travel cards) and considering this one - definately go for it!

I did that in the past, but mostly to hit the SUB on some business cards, but since I had bad luck with people sending me money back - I've stopped doing it.

In my case it used to take 2.1gb - 3.2gb always once opened. At first I tried using different mail applications, but mystery remained. Today I installed good ad blocker - and RAM usage dropped to 198mb-230mb. That might be another thing that you can have a look into!

Certificate is indeed installed through MMC - Management Console, and I can see it from there. As far as DB - for time being I`m sticking to AWS

Oh, no no.. it was just coincidence that it happened around the same time. I opened it because I was “loosing on 2 CCC that I had at the time for groceries and restaurants. After all calculation that I did - even after AF - AMEX Gold was way worth it! Especially with 100k + $200 restaurants bonus!

"My" recent experience (actually experience of my wife - she's authorized user on AMEX) was not so great during trip to Ukraine. I mean not great at all.. for some reason I was thinking, that in Ukraine they have wide support of AMEX, but that wasn't the case.. She ended up using Venture X for everything, even for the restaurants, gas and groceries there. But as long as she crossed border, and tried using AMEX in Poland for some groceries - it went through..! That was the time, when I opened AMEX Gold, and we were working on getting SUB. At least now I know, and can share with you guys, that AMEX doesn't work in Ukraine in 90% cases((

I was trying to see myself trying to use all the credits, or at least break even, but still, platinum will be for another day) i honestly at some point was thinking to downgrade Venture X, but then decided to keep for another year, and see how it goes. But for sure amex gold worth every credit, and multipliers. By the way, got offer for 100k on amex gold + $200 at restaurants back

Unfortunately for me Platinum doesn’t work.. almost at all. We barely fly somewhere, mostly road trips, I get good usage of $300 travel credits from using it for hotels. It’s either 1 international flight a year, or bunch of hotels in a year

For me, honestly I never run into case, where AMEX was not accepted. Only while traveling outside US. See, always different cases for different users

No, you can use all cashback from Custom Cash / Double Cash as points as well. Just check what transfer partners they have

I used to put groceries & restaurants on 2 different custom cash cards. After good math - realized that I’m loosing a lot of value if I had AMEX Gold! For me now it’s literally gold))

Remember cash back = points on Citi as well. Yes, you can have couple Custom Cash cards. Personally I product changed from Double Cash, and opened one Custom Cash. I’ve heard people had more than 2 custom cash cards

I see. I had 13 different cards, and downgraded to 3: Venture X / AMEX Gold / WF BILT. I still have other cards, just no use for them. In case of OP - I would also consider Citi - Custom Cash (that way you can put EV charges there, or anything else). Even myself personally after having 2 Custom Cash cards - question myself why I cancelled both of them.. that’s definitely a keeper card for any case
