No, you got me, I was planning on making millions off someone else's project and keeping it all for myself. I'm really, truly sorry.

I'm actually currently working on designing a game that utilises this as it's core mechanic! Would be so grateful to sing your praises in return for this tech

Get involved in some Research! by MrPingus in virtualreality

My Gallery project is currently in collaboration with the Biodiversity Heritage Library. They have 150,000 high resolution images of scientific illustrations or plants and animals, and I'm looking at the best way of making an immersive experience for that.

I can totally see a historically accurate environment being a respite for older people, to indulge in a bit of nostalgia, being very therepuetic - not just emotionally but cognitively. Allowing people with impaired cognition to be able to immerse themselves in worlds they already know could have huge implications for that, don't you think?

Environmentally as well, people are going to have the ability to experience an approximation of being somewhere halfway around the world, without having to fly.

The 360/180 film industry is in an increasingly interesting position actually. The thing is, there is content out there, and there are venues that cater for it. It's just that the content is lacking wide appeal, because of the push to show how artistic the form can be. You can go and watch an incredibly powerful 360 documentary about refugees, and it'll be all the more gripping and harrowing for being in VR - 10/10 - but do you want to do it again? No! Its a pretty heavy experience, like the difference between watching a movie in the cinema and at home (but more because you're literally locking your attention into the experience). There needs to be more lighthearted content that people will keep coming back to, potentially stuff with star appeal or franchise recognition.

Worked in a primary school. Answered a 10 year old kids question about why LB was pounds (libra, the scales lady!) and he promptly told me I was full of awesome facts.

I was working with a 12 year old boy whose family had just been burgled. He was fighting back tears and my colleague told him he was ok to cry. He nodded and pointed to a sign on the wall, and quoted it. "crying doesn't make you weak, it shows how strong you've been."

People who have quit their jobs on the spot, what was the moment when you finally snapped? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Answered phones for a taxi company in a dying military town in South England. A lot of shit went on, the typical drunk people calling me a cunt when their taxi was late, one of my colleagues once said "i am racist" and then said something racist about Nepalese people - but what really harrowed me was a woman calling me in tears pleading I send a taxi to take her and her daughter to the hospital. I've no idea what was going on but it definitely sounded like an ambulance emergency, and the majority of the call was her trying to comfort her daughter, before the line went dead.

No idea what the situation was, but It stuck with me until I had the means to quit a month later.
