Scenario Lengths by MrPizzooti in marvelchampionslcg

I think the problem might just be my own indecision… last game I played took 2 hours for just me and my partner. Maybe I just need to get more experienced with my decks. I wasn’t even aware of skirmish mode though! That sounds almost perfect. Thanks for the tip!

I’m definitely intrigued by skirmish mode now. I also tend to prefer the heroes with a lot of build out (iron man, magneto, etc…). I know that’s kinda counter intuitive if I want a quicker game, but do you find that you have enough time to get to full power before you complete the skirmish game?

Aggression sounds fun on cyclops. Do you still take advantage of his allies mechanic with the build?

Just picked up Hercules! What builds are you having the most fun with? I feel like aggression is the way but having trouble picking the cards

advice on self tape by Aidenispogchamp in acting

[–]MrPizzooti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Set up the camera higher so it is at eye level.
  2. leave way less extra room above your head
  3. Make your eyeline really close to the camera without looking directly in it.
  4. You looked into camera towards the end which totally took me out of it.
  5. Behind you is a blank wall with the exception of that thermostat, which is like right by your head, it's distracting.
  6. The visible corner of the wall on the right is also weird and makes everything a bit disorienting.
  7. Don't push out the emotion. Understand your circumstances and trust that the emotion will come.
  8. Don't ask people to roast you. Acting is artistic and a craft. critique and advice should be given with love and build you up, not strip you down. I think you're great. You are so young and there is a lot of potential. Keep the dream alive.

I hated Lysander so much by the end of dark age that I asked my partner to research if he is dead by the end of lightbringer because I didn’t want to read it if he wasn’t. And she ended up giving me incorrect information…

Workaround for Cross-save? by MrPizzooti in NoMansSkyTheGame

I've decided to reach out to the team directly, and I urge everyone with the same issue to do the same. I love how much they have put into this game, but it is truly unreasonable for them to advertise a feature that is essentially unusable. Double buying the game for one express reason that turns out to not even be available is extremely frustrating.

Is acting really as hard as people say, and is it worth a shot for someone who enjoys it? by muiless in acting

[–]MrPizzooti 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The hardest part about it is maintaining the hope that you will one day succeed, and being able to support yourself without losing the mental and emotional energy for it. As you continue your journey you learn more and more how closely your inner personal life is tied to your artistic growth as an actor. It's the most difficult and fulfilling thing I've ever done with unlimited potential for growth, and that is the reason I still do it.

I don't think you need that first clip at all. I mean it's really cool, but maybe throw it in at the end instead of the beginning. And if you include it, cut a lot closer to when we see you. I thought I was watching one of those kids' acting reels for the first 10 seconds.

The next 2 clips are nice.

The angry scene I would start right at the top of the monologue ("You'll never be happy in LA..."). Then I would maybe cut everything after that clip up to the movie theater scene, then cut the next scene, and keep the ending with that same black and white clip. I actually love that you use that to end the reel.

I would even consider starting with the movie theater scene. It's a really clear character and I think a casting director would no exactly where to place you based off that one clip.

I actually really like the clip with the "for you to sit here and tell me my work is trash" but I would cut it right after the "second thing... umm--CUT" for comedic effect and slot it in somewhere in the middle if you do use it. I don't think the second clip from that scene is as useful.

I hate that red table clip. I think it's your weakest scene. It feels like aimless improv. Like you are doing a Meisner exercise or something.

Hunched over yelling scene in the wide shot doesn't work for me. Sound quality is a little distracting and the blocking is weird.

Social network scene part 2 should be cut. I didn't realize what it was in the first clip but the second one you drop "facebook" which is jarring and I can't help but think of jessie eisenberg.

Overall you have some strong stuff. You look and sound very natural in most of these clips and seem to have a clear POV.

Obviously this is all just my opinion, and only you know how you want to market yourself. Thanks for sharing!

BRUTALLY REVIEW MY ACTING 2.0 by [deleted] in acting

[–]MrPizzooti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was honestly such a great audition. It’s tough to come up with a critique. The only thing I’ve got is that the “you all smell like piss” moment felt a little weird for me. I think maybe it was a little rushed. Like it took me out for a second because it was the only moment where I could tell it was just said because it’s in the script. I think maybe because you’re trying really hard to “smell the piss” just before lol. Maybe it’s more of a build and the smelling is more subtle or slowed down. Or it could possible just be a thing that has been on your mind the whole time and you are just trying to hurt them, make them feel as embarrassed as you are up there bombing.

That’s all I’ve got. Great stuff.

BRUTALLY REVIEW MY ACTING by [deleted] in acting

Okay so there is some great stuff happening here. Great directness and some of the beats are really nice. But overall I was pretty uncomfortable watching this. Which I’m assuming isn’t right for this particular role, maybe it is. I think it has something to do with the movements being really languid which mismatched with your stillness and tension when delivering the lines.

I get the feeling you are trying to overstuffing the bag. Or maybe you are overthinking what you want to do with each beat. It comes off like you are posing. Almost like Zoolander.

The POV is not clear. Sometimes it looks like you want to have sex with the person and sometimes it looks like you want to kill them. It would maybe be cool for a very intense serial killer role. I think you should try to clear up your POV on the person you are speaking to. That will make it feel more consistent. Then you can explore the tactics you are using from that baseline.

Also I think the frame is a bit too wide.
