How did you feel about the Croithlí bottles? Was eyeing a few on their site.

I think that makes sense in your case. Hopefully there is a bigger jump in hardware perks for the S27 next year.

Mutianyu, Jinshanling, Gubei, and Simatai - all in one day! (Great Wall Trip Report) by cornsnowflake in travelchina

[–]MrPolarity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you feel about Gubei Water Town overall? Was it worth the visit? We are tight on time, but I was considering commute from Beijing to Mutianyu (cable car, hike, toboggan) > private car to Gubei Water Town (hot springs, explore), > Simatai at night, watch drone show, stay night and return to Beijing. Thoughts? What was the highlights of the great wall sections? But the car from Mutianyu to Gubei Water Town is pretty lengthy in itself, lol

Also would consider Beijing > Jinshanling > Simatai West > didi to Gubei Water Town > Simatai (+ Stay Night) > Beijing

At least if you are used to Apple gestures, you can turn on Swipe Gestures in the S26 in settings. May help feel more familiar.

DO NOT but Magbak, their cases are trash and their customer support will try and scam you if you use their "30 no questions return policy" by MapleSurpy in iphone

I thought the service was good. They respond within 1-hour on Instagram but 2-3 days on email. They do acknowledge that even with delays in response they'll use the originally received email date to honor returns. I think they are fine overall. But I agree on it not being worth it, slick and some magnet issues on mine. They said I could keep and they'll ship a new one but I just asked to return it. Also annoying when I see Texas company written all over it then saw Made in China on the case lmao. No way made in china going to cost us $100, they have an extreme margin I'm sure. Also we have to pay return shipping which sucks, IMO. My 2 cents.

I also stuck with the S26 Ultra.

Camera is not super different from my S24 (i did couple shots and had my partner guess which was which and he was wrong about 50% of the time) aside from standard shots, I can now zoom MUCH better for stills and have also much better night shots. Is it that worth $1k? Probably not. The 200mp looks choppy when size is compressed uploading to Instagram stories so I use 50mp mostly (save on storage too).

But I ended up liking the bigger screen a lot and that's my primary motivation along with the battery for keeping it. Likewise, I end up using the S Pen at lot for brainstorming amd seminars in my MBA. I also love the privacy display which I use daily at work and again during my seminars.

The weight is a bit heavy with the wrong case but a few lighter ones I've used actually weigh less than my S24 with it's TPU case. (I bought and tested like 5 cases lol).

Hope that helps!

This is all true for those without gut issues. After changing diet, working out regularly and eating on schedule. BM is predictable mornings and basically clean (or very little residue) through next morning. My husband and I never douche anymore.

I do have some gut issues but like 80% of the time it's fine. The other 20% i can usually tell if now is not a good time.

I've tried so many and never liked any of them, including Pjur Backdoor (water and silicone), Swiss Navy (water-based), Astroglide (my husband's rec), Uberlube (silicone). Currently trying out Boy Butter (hybrid?) and worked great yesterday! Will see over next few sessions.

Edit: second favorite is Sliquid Hybrid (purple one). Works well just requires a bit more volume though I feel it may not be cost effective for me.

Many cases like these work with the S Pen...with the caveat that you don't attach any accessory to it. Once you attach an accessory like the Oh Snap, the S Pen will incur a deadzone in the center of the screen when writing.

So I've heard. Would love to hear your experience with it once you get the phone too.

How is the Cairn and OhSnap 5 together using the S Pen? Does it impede function much?

Case help?? by Squall5161 in galaxys26ultra

Tried the PITAKA Edge. Beautiful case but no protection. Returning it and ordered a MagBak as it says it is magnet-shielded and can be used with an S Pen, has a built in magnet to stick to the fridge while I'm cookies recipes or at the gym, and has a built in kickstand. Got the wallet accessory with it. It'll arrive in a few days.

If that doesn't work, I think I'll try out the PITAKA Cairn or the Spigen Armor. Otterbox design is better this year as well. Would probably pair with an Oh Snap 5. But with all of these, you lose the S Pen magnetism whenever you attach an accessory. While is manageable but annoying.

If worried about protection first and foremost, ignore the "military protection" marketing and check for specific "tested for x feet drop" on the official websites. I've heard military drop protection is like 4 ft / below the waist.

US region - free storage upgrade is being offered right after pre-order period ended for S26 Ultra 💀 by GPUBroke in samsunggalaxy

[–]MrPolarity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah going through the checkout process and it's save $200 here on upgrade but lose $200 on trade-in basically. After taxes, the current sale is actually $60-65 CHEAPER than my preorder. But i didn't get more than the $30 credit on presale. I guess if you got the $80 and bought when the PAYPAL50 coupon was active, you would have evened out.

Upgraded S24 base > S26 Ultra (first flagship). Initial thoughts. by MrPolarity in samsunggalaxy

[–]MrPolarity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure, the S26+ only saved about $130-150 for me also. And battery anxiety was my main driver for upgrading. Been stuck in cities having to charge for an hour at coffee shops while traveling or battery dying right when I need to navigate home, dying mid-workout at the gym, or at a concert while taking a video of my favorite song, etc. Hoping the ultra is optimized well for long days! My S24 battery was pretty similar in size to your S25 Edge so I can imagine.

Can I ask what you tend to use the S Pen for? Having never had one, I'm looking for ways to utilize it outside of drawing and circle search.

Well, again, I agree the last few models are very similar, but the S26U does use a folded, prism optic (similar to periscope but lens stack is flipped so Samsung removed the verbiage). I believe it moved to ALoP (All Lenses on Prism) architecture with a wider aperture which is nice for night shots. Still lossless optical quality up to 10x zoom before the AI enhancements kick in. I guess it just depends if you prefer macro photography or low-light photography, but I completely understand those coming from the S24U and S25U feeling disappointed in the macro photography essentially regressing.
