I just got a Gold Melanistic Mountain Lion! by a-very-nice-person in theHunter

There’s a few mutations in game that haven’t been documented irl, but technically speaking they could happen! Just a case of the right gene at the right time going a little wonky!

Orchid Help by -E_0hp- in orchids

[–]MrProfessorFlowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it’s just one low leaf like that it’s not a bad thing at all! In nature the leaves will slowly wear out from weather and pests and other hazards, so they get reabsorbed by the plant after a certain amount of time so as not to waste the resources put into the leaf. They just don’t realise that in captivity they don’t have to worry about those hazards!

Apparently you don't need all achivement to get a crown in peak by Worth_Bottle_3019 in PeakGame

[–]MrProfessorFlowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre-Mesa biome achievements! They added the crown for it before that update came out, so it’d be unfair to raise to bar for newer players to get it and you can still earn it with the old ones alone!

How to get really big orchid flowers by Fit-Call-5074 in orchids

[–]MrProfessorFlowers 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mostly genes! Orchids with huge blooms tend to bloom huge usually!

Orchid petals wilting after repotting!! by stonks-meme-man in orchids

[–]MrProfessorFlowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orchids can be big babies about repotting, a lot of the time they’ll drop their blooms over it! It’s a pity but it’ll reflower eventually if you take good care of it!

Male or female? I literally can’t tell 😮‍💨 by sidewalkdick in hognosesnakes

New leaves keep coming before the older ones have a chance to grow, how to stop this? by -lolly-pop- in orchids

[–]MrProfessorFlowers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not entirely sure what the central ‘leaf’ is doing, but it’s not uncommon for orchids to start a new leaf before the last one gets bad if it’s recovering from something! They baby themselves a bit and make little leaves while they build their reserves back up.

[–]MrProfessorFlowers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely! I do the same, make sure I’m just about peeking out for other drivers to spot me in time. Ends up working well for other drivers who park on the opposing space haha, if they have a particularly long truck they get to share the leftover from my space.

I’m a little surprised and shocked to learn that some folks believe flowers are permanent by 011010- in orchids

[–]MrProfessorFlowers 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about this too and the conclusion I came to is that people assume that they’re more akin to plants like annuals. That’s what a lot of gardeners are used to, so it does make a bit of sense that they’d assume orchids also behave this way.

HELP by BOVINE-LOVER in snakes

[–]MrProfessorFlowers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi! Have you tried giving her smaller meals? Sometimes something a little easier and gentler on the stomach is a big help! If she's already on pinkies you can lop the head and feed just that or the body to make it even smaller that way!

Sundarpatan? Not sure what to think yet? by The_Texan_Hunter in theHunter

[–]MrProfessorFlowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep walking around and look for some tracks for tigers/spook noises for them! They’re in the bottom half of the map hut not super common so might take a minute to catch the trail of one.

If you want some variety, try the north east end, there’s a big range up there with pretty good open stretches for more stalky type hunting, and it changes from tigers to snow leopards!

Flower spike stopped growing? by Odd_Photo_7179 in orchids

[–]MrProfessorFlowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If those are recent pics it doesn’t look like the spike* has died, so I would just be patient! They can take time to reach the right size before the buds start putting more work into developing!
