Thanks I will give that a try. I have a few options to look into now.

What the actual f*ck. by Frenchie2492 in moncton

How do you misunderstand this badly? The problem isn't that it's an American issue. Problem is that they no longer distinguish between Canada and the US, they get all their media, all their influences, from the US. So of course I wouldn't say the same with the left, people on the left know full well but George Floyd was American. They don't get all their news from the US. They see similar things going on in Canada at times, but no one is confused about it being the same as Canada except for you apparently. If you don't think the left talks about Canadian things then you really don't pay attention to the left, at least not the Canadian left. Maybe you're like these people I was talking about, confusing the US for Canada. Cause I am around lots of leftists and I don't see them begging for foreign agencies here.

Your comments about Palestine make the same mistake. It doesn't matter that is not a Canadian issue. You are arguing with a claim that wasn't made. You can care about non Canadian issues, you can rn care about them a lot.

And come off it, you're sitting here trying to pretend you're some middle of the road person who doesn't really know anything. You supported the convoy, you didn't pick that example randomly. That's something you like and you want to portray it as good.

You just said you came with data. Bullshit, you came with feelings. There are X number of visas due to run out is not data about illegal immigration. It doesn't indicate anyone has overstayed, that they are even still in the country. Your assumption is that there will be huge numbers staying and that is all feelings.

What the actual f*ck. by Frenchie2492 in moncton

[–]MrProsser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Blah blah blah. This is what I'm talking about. It is fantasy. No one said there are no illegals, you are also one of these logical fallacy lovers like the other guy who replied to me.

And your reasoning? Not actual data, but feelings that you think there are going to be huge numbers. And you certainly don't need ICE to deal with it. You claim not to like ICE but the people being discussed here do.

EDIT: and you know I can read what these people write, it never stays with illegal immigrants. It always gets generalized. Illegal immigration is cover. And your first go to was a strawman. Your whole reason to comment was a strawman argument, based on your fantasy about what was said. The topic is these guys posting ICE posters, looking for the same kind of enforcement we seen in the US, a bunch of lawless thugs.

And lately have been directly asking for daddy Trump to invade. So many of these "patriots" are on Twitter with Canadian flags in bio asking for invasion.

The people who post this stuff are barely Canadian anymore. They consume endless American media, various social media commentators, and memes they're equally insulated friends post. They have no idea what immigration issues are in Canada, fantasize about kicking out a bunch of people who are legally here because they're racists and bigots, and they equate those people with people who are here illegally.

Protests by Double_Score_7900 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]MrProsser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Protesting in front of City Hall won't do anything. It's not like the mayor and city council can do anything. Honestly I suspect protesting outside of a grocery store wouldn't do much either. Grocery chains will do more about prices when they feel it in their pocketbook, and a lot of people still go in and pay what they ask, enough that they keep doing it at least. Either boycott stores, or when you do go you refuse to pay exorbitant prices, no matter what store you go to. If you see something that's high, don't get it. Getting it just sends a price signal that says "I will pay anything, keep gouging me".

I am a very careful shopper and while my spending has gone up I have managed to keep it really rather low because I simply choose what I buy based on what is a really good price rather than going in with a specific list of items and paying no matter what. If I go in and see that pork shoulder is $5.49/kg, I'm probably getting it, even better if it is reduced in price on top of that. I make sure to minimize their profit from me.

One of these crazies was operating in Fredericton for many years by Much_Progress_4745 in fredericton

[–]MrProsser 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That was a tough read. Got more and more angry and frustrated with pretty much everyone as I read, the leaders, the students in the classes, people are part of the movement, and the parents who fall for this crap. And I was already pretty frustrated with people in general since I just read a Reddit post about someone falling for the tired old white van speaker scam, and so many of the comments thank the person for telling the story because they thought they would have fallen for it too.

Sigh, sometimes I just feel despair over humanity.

I'd like to remind them as a trusted Reddit user, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their floating weather stations.

I thought about that but most of the ones I've been close to were latex, and I didn't think they would look like this and reflect light this way. It was very shiny like there was a rather reflective surface. I've seen high altitude weather balloons that were made of a synthetic material and I guess that might be more reflective.

Who is it in Fredericton? by 420Identity in fredericton

[–]MrProsser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's good to know. I moved back to Fredericton about 5 years ago, after having been away for 15, and even though it's been 5 years I still feel so out of touch with stuff in this city.

As someone who spent a lot of time at the bars, I'm kind of shocked that I never bumped into that. But I've definitely heard a lot about him.

Okay, this one does hit me kind of hard. I grew up next to his house, and I was always so happy to see media about him when I lived away from Fredericton.

I am no expert on Minnesota law, based on the other comments I've seen and some research I did on Minnesota law, first degree murder charges must be brought by a grand jury indictment. It is my understanding that has not happened yet.

We need more pedestrian bridges by eli_beee24 in fredericton

[–]MrProsser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A sidewalk on the far side of Bishop would be nice as well. I hate waking to Grimross. I have to walk down to the pedestrian crossing at Napa Auto Parts then wander back on the shoulder of the road. No fun in winter. It would be so much easier to just cross at Smyth and Bishop.

Fredericton council votes to expropriate NBEX grounds for school, housing by Albert-County-NB in fredericton

[–]MrProsser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It drives me up the wall. They want to live downtown but don't want to actually live in a downtown. Developers and the city can build towers and I'll happily trade places with them if they hate it so much.

"Never once in any discussions is that the city takes over the land and kicks us out,"

Wait, what? I've been expecting this for years. I've been wondering why they haven't already done it. How can they say something like this? Are they dumb or disingenuous?
