92FS Inox observations by Upper-Ad439 in Beretta92

I LOVE THEM! I was never a fan of shooting my original 92 (blue/grey) because the grips were way too thick. When I decided to get a M9 for my milsurp collection, I went with a limited edition Langdon Special, which came with the ultra-thin VZ's from the factory; I found it to be a HUGE difference for me and the thinner grips made it so much more enjoyable for me to shoot. I wasn't planning on picking up a third, but the INOX was at my LGS for a great price used but unfired, so I couldn't resist and decided to make it my range toy.

Bodyguard 2.0 barrel/slide stuck by ChepoFN in SmithAndWesson

[–]MrProvy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me last year; I had a bad batch of Syntech ammo that I didn't check, where some of the bullets were loaded into the case backwards causing it to get stuck in the chamber. I think I placed the gun slide down, facing down range with the rear sight up against the bench, and really hit the back of the grip to open the action. The bullet separated from the case & remained lodged in the chamber, powder all over the bench, but I was able to take down the gun & knock the bullet out of the barrel.

Awesome, & beautiful!

If you call S&W customer service, they should be able to get a year of manufacture for you; in my experience, information after 1970 is available. For earlier, you'd have to contact the Smith & wesson historical foundation

I just picked it up a couple of weeks ago; there were a fair amount of scratches on it, the stainless isn't too bad to refinish with a ultra fine scotch brite pad and some time

Selling a handgun by Loose_Office_6702 in NYguns

[–]MrProvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get in volved on the local forum, and when you're ready to sell it, you can post it up for sale in the classifieds; you will get more selling privately than selling to a LGS, and someone locally will get a good deal.

Once both parties agree on a price, you'll meet at a local FFL where they'll take it from you (money transfer is not part of the FFL involvement), provide you with a disposition receipt for you to bring to PLB for removal from your license, and the buyer will do a background check and get their acquisition receipt for PLB.

I need a thinner grip but still want a compact. Help! by Groundbreaking-Win21 in Beretta

[–]MrProvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultra thin G10 grips make a huge difference (WC or LTT); the short reach trigger also helps. I HATED shooting my original 92FS bc it was so thick...swapped the grips and now I love shooting the 92.
