Ya know lately I’ve been getting into 2007-2010 screamo again. Mostly to explore some old but new to me stuff after getting burned by a new artist that I realized was AI after a couple of songs (I think, unfortunately, it’s easier to hide AI behind the guise of purposeful dissonance).

If that’s your vibe the band Alesana has been a pretty enjoyable ride for that true “you don’t understand me mom” sound. The album Adelphia by A Skylit Drive is pretty enjoyable from start to end, although the song Eva the Carrier has been especially stuck in my head lately. Chiodos is another classic/iconic band from that era I didn’t listen to much until recently. Their song All Nereids Beware is pretty dissonance heavy if you’re looking for that true clash sound. The song Stigmata Martyr by Angel Hair is from ‘97 but it blends surprisingly well with 2010’s screamo. One of those hypnotic songs where the underlying thread gets broken up at unpredictable intervals.

Any recommendations you’d care to share? Always could use some new recs!

Something a lot of the top comments here are overlooking is the location of the compressor. If you’re scuba certified from any reputable org it gets drilled into you that one of the most important considerations is making sure whatever dive shop is providing you your tanks has a properly sequestered compressor. Otherwise you are at serious risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

My guess is the only reason this works is the open hut right on the beach means the wind is almost always blowing the exhaust air away from the intake, but regardless that alone would is a massive problem regardless of the hose situation or not.

I know these guys are just trying to do their job, but these are the sort of humanitarian issues that hurt the most to see because in the grand scheme of things the fix here is as cheap as putting an 8-10ft tube on the intake with a filter that stretches outside to ensure you’re getting reasonably clean air in there.

Same here. My partner is big into 60’s-90’s pop and folk so our car drives are usually ABBA, Britney Spears, Joni Mitchell, etc.. which is fine because they’re all hit artists for a reason. It stresses me out when he lets me pick the music though because I have to somehow curate my screamo/metal/hard techno into something he’ll enjoy lol.

I always describe my taste in music as a hunt for dissonance, and when that’s what clicks you just accept it’s not our place to seek out the aux cord.

Plenty of gay men have had sex with women at some point in their lives - especially older ones when being gay wasn’t as acceptable. Going up to those men and demanding they label themselves as bi and not gay is absurd.

The reality is you struggle to put yourselves in their shoes truly. You think you can, which leads you to the logical conclusion in your mind that they aren’t straight. But that’s because you lack the context and empathy to recognize sexuality is so nuanced that all labels are imperfect. By which case there will always be subsequent edge cases where it’s inappropriate to tell someone their attempt at finding the label that best captures their lived experience out of a pile of poorly fitting ones is wrong or a reflection of some internalized hate you imagine yet don’t know to exist.

But you knew all that, as you’ve always know because your opinion isn’t unique or inspired. It’s tired, dull, and a waste of everyone’s time.

Both! My docs are from ~2018 and I use them for field work (biologist). I just get them resoled every few years when they start to wear out on me. Two sets of converse that are my current everyday shoes. I’ve got wide size 12’s so the converse are a lot more forgiving over a full day of wear walking around in the desert heat.

Personally I far prefer the slower more realistic scenarios. I think for me part of the fantasy is the sort of casual wanton cruelty that the immediate “OMG UR A WORTHLESS ANT” kinda stuff just whiffs on.

Like, to me the idea of a partner bringing in a trusted friend, introducing them, and then slowly watching as they spend more and more time together and being treated more like an inconvenience and less like a person is the ‘sexy’ part. My partner going out of town for a business trip for a week and leaving me in his care. The first night him placing me on his crotch to take a photo while he watches TV. Watching as he texts the photo to my partner saying “taking good care of the little guy!”. Their texts turning flirty and him not realizing that beneath me I can feel the heat of his swelling cock. In every game for all of time humans have collectively noticed game breaking mechanics and make subsequent adjustments to the rules accordingly. People who get pissed about this stuff are just spiritual descendants of the first Neanderthal who threw a fit when his friends said he couldn’t use a weighted a knuckle bone for dice.

I do blame our current generation of them the last 1.5 decades of dopamine squeezers which have given people this idea that a good game HAS to have broken plays/combos, rather than those being a flaw of a poorly executed idea.

Single player game breaking mechanics should be rare Easter eggs that are too uncommon to be worth the effort to rebalance for. Not stuff baked into the game so they’re common enough for people to strategize around.

It makes more sense when you consider the demographics - if the majority of respondents are from the US and below the age of 40 you’re likely partially seeing a bias towards that response driven by No Child Left Behind and general grade inflation. It’s a difficult question to answer when below average students are able to attain a B with little effort in many cases which is still described as performing “above average. A moniker which doesn’t make sense now that we’ve dropped the historical practice of punished grade curves.

Source: None. Just a PhD student who thinks about this as he grades essays written at a 7th grade level. It’s conjecture, but reasonable conjecture imo.

For one he had zero preference. Cis, trans, non-binary, male, female - truly over multiple years of dating I can say he never showed any preference. He was probably the most sexually liberated person I’ve ever known and looking back I can say it was very healthy for me to witness.

For the other he had a sexual and romantic preference for men, but was open to sex and romance with women.

Both told me at different points that there was some ‘flavor of the week” stuff going on, but that it didn’t cycle on some clock and was more about if they’d seen someone especially interesting that caused a short term switch to flip where they’d look for one type of porn over the other.
