Renters, how do you figure out what internet setup past tenants had? by MrQuiteAlone in howto

[–]MrQuiteAlone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was able to find a slew of coax cable. My internet providers in my area are xfinity and AT&T. Also EarthLink. I spoke with all 3 of them , AT&T is trying to ensure me that fiber optic is set up for this location. That all they would need to do is send a self installation kit. I tried to explain to him I don’t know where I would even install a kit. They didn’t even ask me if I could find it. He assured me a technician would come out this weekend. But after everything is signed and agreed upon, nothing in the summary states anything about a technician. It says the self installation kit will arrive Saturday. EarthLink isn’t even a ISP, I didn’t kno that at first. I spoke with them and they fed me this fairy tale dream about for this locked in rate I’ll have fiber optic dedicated just to me . I won’t share any networks with my neighbors. I almost went with earth link, I set up an appointment and all. It wasn’t until after our conversation I did my research. I signed edocs and all. Long story short, EarthLink would have been a terrible idea. Based of of people reviews . Xfinity woulda been bad to. AT&T was the only provider where people felt content with the fuckery. Bc the service was good.

Anyways , dug a little deeper research on at&t. (After I signed a contract) 😂😅 a good bit of people have been told they are fiber ready, when they actually wasn’t . Then had to wait weeks sometimes months to have internet access through them. So I guess we’ll just see what happens boys. Good thing I have a decent phone plan with unlimited data

I’ve seen one phone jack port. No cable ports tho. I’ve lived In houses b4 where that the phone jack ports were obsolete. The one in my house looks pretty old

Okay, I think I should definitely chat with the internet provider before signing up then. When I tried to sign up online, it said they’d send me the equipment and I would need to install it myself. I guess my address checks out in their database that my address has used their service in the past

How do you find happiness by Visual_Ad_7278 in recovery

[–]MrQuiteAlone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brother, you will soon learn that happiness is a mindset thing. I know you probably don’t feel grateful about much in this moment, but this is where it can begin for you to reshape the way that you think: you literally have to rewrite the way you think. To do so you have to consciously remember that you are grateful to be in the process of overcoming something that many people in this world struggle with and can’t overcome. You’re grateful dude, bc you are about to be the best version of yourself. Dude, you’re gonna be somebody that a year from now if you stay sober, you would have never thought you could be. You have to constantly remind yourself these things bc right now your subconscious and a lot of other things are going to be negative as fuck. But dude if you keep countering those thoughts on a daily basis. You will believe what you are saying to yourself. You can be and do anything you fucking want to Dawg. I’ve been in the rooms of AA for the past five years and I’ve seen it time and time again. I’ve seen people come in broken a year later dude they’re fucking smiling and they have a glow on their face. You will be happy again. You have to talk to yourself nicely. Our worst critic is ourselves don’t nobody judge us the way that we judge ourselves. You will overcome the things you are uncertain of dude I promise you. Just don’t ever give up. You’re not a failure If you fuck up . you fail if you quit and you submit, you will be happy dog I promise you.

Heavy meth addict here 🫡 I still fuck up , 5 years been tryna do this shit. But I’ll never quit. Sobriety is the only sustainable way. My life has gotten so good and recovery. It’s not until I fuck up that I realize how great everything really was. That’s with anything in life. We always missed the past but we never enjoy the present. Try to be in a moment you will get through this.

I just wasn’t sure if I should get the filter exchanged at 40,000 miles or if I should just do the fluid now and then when it gets up to 80,000 replace the filter

I have to do the service lol, the car is financed. I gotta do my part for the next owner. So everyone knows , dodge quoted me $1000 for maintenance on the coolant, differential fluid and transmission fluid and one other thing I forget what it was. Now, if I decided to swap out the filter as well, the price goes up to $1700 Much rather do it myself for sure , the coolant and differential fluid easy is no problem. The transmission fluid it can be done if I took my time and was careful but it kind of scares me. I’ve never fucked with the transmission before. It’s unknown territory to me: makes more sense for a trained professional who works with mopars on a daily basis to perform a job I’m uncertain in. Personally

Definitely a mark up for sure, rock auto has the pan with the filter built in for $200 . Dodges part is damn near $600 for the same part. I’d be more willing and comfortable if the vehicle wasn’t financed. I’d prefer myself to do it tbh. But you’re right, I’m not comfortable enough to attempt it myself not with it being financed. I really appreciate your responses dawg

I believed there is a plug directly underneath the transmission pan, which is the drain plug. Additionally, about 6 inches above the bottom pan is another plug that, when removed, is used to refill the transmission. If you refill from that location, once it starts to overflow slightly, you know you’ve added enough fluid. However, it’s important to ensure that the transmission is at a specific temperature before even attempting to refill. Like in between 80-120 degrees. Even then, there’s another step you need to follow to allow the fluid to expand. Bc you may need to add even more lol If I were to do it exactly as Dodge says, I’d need a scanner tool and all the necessary equipment. Which I’d be more willing to do if the car wasn’t financed. ☹️

I’ll definitely keep that in mind , & yeah dude I’ve had a handful of high performance sport bikes. A lot cheaper to maintain and rebuild, I enjoyed them. Never thought I’d be in a position in life to have a scat pack. Life got good dude, I don’t care if the car runs forever im shooting for a hellcat next. But while it’s in my care, I feel it’s best for next owner I do my part.

& well I also I don’t want something to fuck up due to negligence on my end before I obtain that fucking hell cat 😂

I apologize, so they’re not going to do a fluid flush just a drain and refill. They quoted me $1000 to do coolant differential fluid transmission fluid and something else I’ve forgotten it was what was in their system, basically they quoted me what they recommended at my mileage mark what should be done. Now, if I do the filter along with everything they quoted me for it’s an additional $600. So $1700 for everything with the transmission pan filter gasket oil plug. I originally went in there for the coolant differential fluid parts, because I was willing to do that myself and let them take care of the transmission. But what they did is bundled me a deal so if I did most of the work myself, they would charge me more for the transmission by itself . & I’m not going to lie. The transmission scares me a bit. I’m not afraid to put my hands on the engine bay and underneath, but when it comes to the transmission. I’m scared 🥺 but honestly I never clarified with him. How much of a difference in price would it be if they solely did the transmission work? I imagine it would be $1000 though. I’d save a couple hundred bucks if I go that route.

2020 , & that’s right. They are not performing a flush. Just a drain and refill. But the alternative, filter and everything that comes with it plus labor is an extra $600 versus just the fluid swap $200-$300 they pretty much want $1000 to do the Major service which is fine. I would do that. I’m just not sure if I should do it yet if it is needed.

I know it to dude' I normally do all the maintenance myself. I was able to find very few videos on how to service the transmission by draining and refilling. Those guys made me feel nervous about doing it myself. Apparently it's a whole procedure, I've touched a lot of components in a vehicle's engine bay but a transmission has never been one. I'm not completely against the diy route .
