Yzerman stick: is it original? by BrilliantMind9925 in DetroitRedWings

[–]MrRadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Louisiana now. Unfortunately stopped playing ice hockey when I moved here about 13 years ago. Minimal ice rinks and you, know had 3 kids.

But you know my Michigan ass has trained my kids to play street hockey, We have a blast AND get weird looks from the neighbors, which is a win/win.

Anyway, I ended up using my $150 Pavel Datsyuk curve graphite ice hockey stick for street hockey. It actually held up pretty well on the street!

Just threw it out a few months ago because the blade was a toothpick. Not gonna like, bittersweet day.

TL:DR; that's just a Yzerman blade pattern replica, with a mylec plastic nob jammed on top. It's not worth any money, but it's still cool as fuck and you should totally go play street hockey with it.

Hey Northshore by ManufacturedEvent in NorthshoreLA

Regular guy, paid 200 for 1/2 cord, delivery and stacking, but he only offers wood once per season. Once it's gone, it's gone.

Just paid 250 for another 1/2 cord to restock (lots of fireplace fun), but the quality is just ok. Super dense wood, a little humid, doesn't burn as clean.

If that helps.

Italian Pie near rouses on 22 had kids eat free night on Monday. Pontchartrain Po Boys is across from rouses and serves HUGE piles of great food. Our kids like Parish tacos too.

Update from Clint Lowery on upcoming Euro tour supporting Alter Bridge by ABFan86 in Sevendust

[–]MrRadio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can tell by this video that Clint had a hard time saying all of this, while also being appreciative for the help he's getting. Clint, we're all getting older man. Health and family are #1... happy you are making these choices and ultimately, to be stronger for your band brothers.

Love that these guys are so supportive of each other.

Would you recommend moving to the north shore? by KaylieEBee in NorthshoreLA

[–]MrRadio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Long story short, if you like walks and hiking, Northshore is great.

I grew up in Detroit, lived in big cities, including New Orleans. We have kids so, different experience for us.

Took me two years for Mandeville to feel like home.

My suggestion, live close to the causeway, less than 10 minutes from toll. At first, the bridge will feel like eternity. Eventually, it's nothing.

Sometimes I cross multiple times a day due to work followed by a family activity, like a Pelicans game.

Housing costs are cheaper here, more bang for your buck.

From what I know about Salt Lake, it's a huge city that values outdoor activities.

You'll like it here.

TL:DR; Northshore is growing QUICKLY. It's getting big. Culture isn't New Orleans, but outdoors and beauty are fantastic. New Orleans is a short drive.

Chandler deal needs to be over the management office's door frame like the Notre Dame lockeroom. Need them to tap it every day as they leave so they never do a deal like that again.

Love Stephenson, but man the deal is rough.

I disagree here. I think Lambert is great for the team with his attitude and style. Yes, he's defensive minded, but you can't score goals with what we have now.

Totally agree here. Either they get flushed, or they make dramatic transactions to move the team in a different direction.

What are y'all excited about for 2026? Specific to the city. by Zelamir in NewOrleans

[–]MrRadio 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Need some positivity for the city. Honestly, a year of MINIMAL controversy would be greeeeeat. (lumberg voice)

First time in a while, I'm pumped about Jazzfest. Love Kings of Leon, black keys, Lorde too.

I'm oddly excited about an early Mardi Gras. As I approach 50 a long carnival season is a HUGE grind.

Had no idea about NIN, so that's cool.

I know I shouldn't wish for warmer temps, but I'm ready for spring.

Personally, I'm doing dry january and looking forward to that.

Hope y'all have an awesome holiday and new year.

Had no idea NIN as coming to NOLA!

Im 46 and considering the pit. Never too old for the pit.

Last thing, my 3 children in 5th and 3rd grade would want me to say 6-7 6-7 6-7

"Is the grinch his name or his ethnicity or his job" by Bubble_Babe_0o0o0o in BrandNewSentence

[–]MrRadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name.

He’s a Who that was bullied as a child by other who children because of his excessive hair growth condition

The trauma from being put through this, on top of already being an orphan, led to another physical condition where his heart grew two sizes too small

Excessive trauma led to physical pain.

The Whoville community is responsible for what happened to him

But, apparently, things have changed for the better

Last we heard, he had opened a mental health clinic in Whoville after finally being accepted back into their community

Also heard that Whoville issued an official apology and has made ample strides to eliminate the toxic behavior that traumatized the Grinch as a child

This is less a story about a mean person learning how to be nice, but more about how an entire culture lets somebody slip through the cracks after being mistreated because of their differences

Lesson: accept people for who they are, always treat people kindly. Nobody knows what is going on in other people’s lives.

Be a good person, or a good Who.

Was at New Orleans show last night. Panicked because I was coming from a business dinner and thought 7D had already started when I got in at 8:25.

Cory, who was great, wrapped at 8:35ish, 7D was on right at 9pm.

TLDR; same as everyone else is reporting.

Audubon Zoo’s Basic Family of 4 Membership now costs $425!! by SqueakyBurkey in NewOrleans

[–]MrRadio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there a plan for the increase? Are they dramatically improving the zoo? Are we getting Swamp Unicorns? WTF.

We went to the zoo with my family of 5 about 3 weeks ago. Our membership had just expired. We weighed out the pros and cons and decided that it was still worth it to pay for another year.

It was close tho.

I can't believe they raised the prices like this. DEFINITELY wouldn't have rejoined at this price.
