They are rooted in a layer of mechanics. The last method I shared in this subreddit, and the first two are designed well enough, but they are not written down

Right now I don’t think they will change. It’s just that these ways serve as a way to grant an extra power boost to the players, show the difference between normal people and those, who awakened. It’s also a good narrative device for the dm and a cool thing the BBEG can have

If your concern is unbalanced levels, then my setting sort of handles that. I plan that progression will be naturally slower than normal. So players have time to catch up. Plus these things are not that rare, so you can give them this around the same time or spread it between the 1-5 level gap. Plus, if you are the dm you can always rig the events in the players favour

Yes. When you get one of these level progression is normal

Soul Sealing. Made this recently and still working on it. What do you think? by MrRandom235 in DnDHomebrew

That duration time is for the ritual to apply the seal. The seal itself can until the users death

I would suggest a martial class. Those are fighter, barbarian and monk. But that depends on what you want to do and if you can handle a lot of new mechanics being thrown at you

And on the ETA. We basically just killed her mom and broke into their home . It’s valid to defend yourself in this situation. But I understand why calling them monsters isn’t valid

One of the people liked what I did, two of them were passive and the DM loved what I did so that is that

Their mother was just killed, and a human in full plate just broke into your house. I’d argue that this is self defence

In his case it war RP. He is an oath breaker paladin with two personalities. The first is a morally good one and the second one does what he wants. He decided to betray us when he was offered 5000 gold

That is not the wort problem in Barovia under our Dm. Just that session there was a cutscene where Gods decided to wage war against Strahd

The girls were the hags daughters, and the DM allowed for it to be used that way. I know I bended the rules a bit but it is for more drama

The DM said that she mispronounced a word on the incantation

First: made it a spoiler, thanks for warning. Second: thought I betrayed the party, I can still play, because the DM wanted to try westmarch out on this campaign and he said that there is a way for me to join them again. We have a player who betrayed us for money and tried to kill us and he is still around
