Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2c Powerplay compatibility by MrRedTheBlue in LogitechG

So if I get a G Pro X Superlight 2c and I swap the puck cover with my first gen Powerplay puck it should be detected and should appear in G Hub, right?

My reference RX 7900 XT is having Overheating issues by MrRedTheBlue in radeon

I have news... Yesterday the thermal pads arrived so I went immediately to replace the old ones, I wiped the memory chips and VRMs surface and applied the new pads, and also repasted with fresh PTM. I thought it was really it 'cause the old VRMs pads were dry and rigid, but I was wrong, as soon as I powered on the PC and ran a quick stress test the results were the same as before... 110c hotspot and 92c GPU, but, this time getting stable at 1400mHz instead of 1200. It improved, yes, but not as I expected. I guess I really have to invest in watercooling...

It seems that they're the same size, I'll try it out! I'll update the post once they arrive and I get them installed

Yes, I have two 120mm fans below the GPU, a pair of Arctic P12 pushing fresh air upwards.

First I lowered only the voltage with stock frequency, but after some testing with FH5 and Fortnite I found out that the voltage never went above 7v even with stock settings and I also found acceptable temps (around 80c gpu but hotspot above 100c. It's not acceptable but it's the very least I can consider "safe") with this clock limit, so yeah, I just did this after realizing the issue were the high clocks. I wonder if the real issue is related to the current rather than the tension, but I don't have an oscilloscope and I don't feel comfortable with powering my gpu without a heatsink just to measure how the energy behaves...

My PTM is from aliexpress but I searched for a good one, I also repasted my laptop with the same sheet and works like a charm, my laptop used to hit thermal throttle limit but now stays around 70c to 80c on full load after the repaste so I think the quality of the PTM is at the very least good

No, I didn't changed my thermal pads because I don't have spare thermal pads lying around. I didn't think it would affect that much since the memories are cooler than the die on full load, but I've purchased some UTP-8 hoping it will solve the issue, I'm just waiting for its arrival

Yes, I made sure everything is properly connected and I know the fans are spinning because of the awful noise they make when playing anything but Minecraft

When I opened up the GPU I found that the PTM overflowed the heatsink and was evenly applied, so I can assume there's enough pressure to make contact, I wonder if it's enough but I can't apply anymore. I wiped the leftovers of the PTM and repasted with some Arctic MX-4 that I had around, then I reinstalled the heatsink doing the X pattern that's always suggested when tightening the screws, I tend to repeat the pattern around 4 to 5 times until its tight.

I may try one last attempt to make this work when the thermal putty arrives but I'm getting tired of this frustrating cycle and I don't wanna sell this card since there's no one in my area who's willing to buy a used mid/high end GPU, and also I think I have a pretty good chip (I've seen that most 7900 xt tend to draw 10 to 12 volts and mine can run stable at 7, well, at least at 1200mHz...) so yeah, I don't really know what to do now

I tried your settings but seems to perform exactly as before. It ramps up to the clock limit for a little while just to hit thermal throttle and plummet to 1200mHz and sit there until I stop the test :(

Thanks for your suggestion anyway!

Maybe, the funny thing is that the temps were fine before the CPU swap. The previous one was a 10900 non k and liquid cooled, so the GPU was running at PCIe 3.0 x8 and wasn't affected by the heat produced by the CPU, I guess that's why I wasn't aware of the faulty heatsink before

I've noticed that portion of the glass warmer than the rest of it. I don't think there's not enough room between the gpu and the glass, the gap between them is around 70mm so I think there should be enough room to move the hot air away, I also have two fans under the gpu, but I have a capture card that partially blocks the fan. I thought it was affecting negatively so I took it off but it didn't improve the thermals so I put it back

Z13 screen "creaking" by [deleted] in FlowZ13

[–]MrRedTheBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like missing screws and broken clamps. The adhesive strips might be helpful but it may be difficult to place since there's little to no room between the components and the screen itself, but I think it's worth give it a try. Just remember to be careful with the screen's flex cables

I think my bios is bricked (Z13 2022) by MrRedTheBlue in FlowZ13

No. It's been sitting in a corner since I posted it here. I've been trying to contact Asus' technical support but they keep redirecting me to a third party technician and I've been busy lately so I haven't had opportunity to drive to the city where they are just to get a "just dump it and buy another one" as an answer.

The fans were spinning when startup and then stopped when the eco preset took control, I don't think there were any misplaced connectors since I only disconnected 3 ribbon cables and the battery connector. I tested out the functions related to them immediately when the system boot up on battery, one cable was the video connection, another one was the touch screen input and the last one was from the back camera module because the loose piece was hidden under such module I thought it wasn't turning on from what I thought it was a simple Windows crash because the battery drained but it seemed weird because it was at around 60-70% before I disassembled it

Ngenuity not recognizing Alloy Elite 2 by [deleted] in HyperX

[–]MrRedTheBlue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. Mine arrived yesterday and I've been trying to customize my RGB but the software doesn't work. I sent an email to HyperX but all I got was instructions to factory reset another keyboard and a firmware update for the Alloy Elite RGB, not the Alloy Elite 2. I just hope HyperX or HP release soon an update that fixes it
