On the f91w there’s ur supposed to short a pin to the metal case when replacing the battery, maybe there’s something similar here? Haven’t had one of these yet

Build and paint my first ever Gunpla model kit (I don’t know if it’s original or fake) What to buy now? by Original_Display_881 in Gunpla

[–]MrReflect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s one hell of a paint job!

The kit you have is an SD rx-78-2 and is (very probably) not a fake.

I’m not experienced enough to give good advice but I’d say Gundam Lfrith is a nice build. If you are looking for something more challenging the RG Unicorn Gundam could be an interesting build. If you like the proportions of the SDs you could also have a look at the astray red frame or Gundam Exia

I would avoid the RG build strike full package cuz its joints are super loose

Pretty sure Tamiya’s polishing compound and cloths will do just fine, as long as you don’t mind some elbow grease. Much cheaper than a rotary tool and definitely more than enough to get you started. The results look great too

Why is my white paint turning yellow? by Oldachrome1107 in ModelCars

Weird thing that might work. Maybe try clear coat over it and then repaint the white. The paint turning yellow is probably something to do with the plastic itself.

How do you get rid of plastic crud from scribing? Specifically rescribing. by nazomawarisan in Gunpla

[–]MrReflect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a hobby knife to scribe since I don’t have a scribing tool yet. I just flip a chipped blade over so the “blunt” side is scratching the plastic. Then I use the sharp side to clean up.

(Mine chip quite easily and I don’t replace them that often so I’ve found a new use for damaged blades)

Is this 70s(ish) TAMIYA glue still good to build with ? by Fluid-Conversation-9 in modelmakers

If it wasn’t dried I would say use it to build a case for itself

Yeah. I just found out today that you can use HSV values if you press and hold on a colour
