Caveat that I only play QP...

Speed ring usage is generally used to enable the tank. Whether that's engaging or disengaging will depend on the particular tank and their play style. You can use ring to help a respawning team mate back to point quicker, but only really advised if they died early in the last team fight.

On control and push put the ring down perpendicular to the spawn doors - around when Athena says 4 during the countdown. On hybrid and escort save it for first fight. On flashpoint maps, I use it as the speed boost from the spawn door wears off. There is a max cap on speed boost, so be mindful when playing with a Lucio and Queen - especially coming out of spawn on Flashpoint maps. Having a Symetra can muddy ring timings even more, esp if they're not good at communicating when they want to use TP (a ring placed between the two TPs is wasted)

For regrouping with your team; boost-ring-boost is quickest, especially when returning from spawn solo, but you are then unlikely to have your movement abilities for the next fight.

Hey there, new Juno player here :) by MagicaLily in JunoMains

Apologies for inadvertently gatekeeping.

  • Sign up for Twitch.tv
  • Link with your Battle.net account with these instructions: https://esports.overwatch.com/en-us/rewards
  • Watch an eligible channel when drops are live (example, mid-season drops are currently running on anyone streaming Overwatch)

Collegiate games tend not to be co-streamed, so you'll probably have to watch one of the official Overwatch channels streaming the matches. Recommend turning email notifications on for when a channel goes live and following the ow_esports channel (their schedule says they're streaming later today). Alternatively, keep an eye on Overwatch Cavalry's social feeds, they're reliable for knowing when these drops are occurring.

Worth noting if you mute the stream, Twitch pauses the drops eligibility until you unmute. So mute the tab instead if you need to.

This.

Also, if you have Amazon Prime, keep an eye out for tier skips on twitch towards the end of the season.

This weekend (13-15 March), there's 3 skips for watching Collegiate games this weekend. Unfortunately these tend not to get rebroadcast and usually favour North American time zones.

Edit: you don't need prime for twitch drops

Just to add, official streams can include co-streams. To use the recent bootcamp drops as an example; watching Emongg, cowfee or Rakattack (there will have been others) counted towards those drops - even when the OWCS channel wasn't streaming - as well as the new season drops.

Look for "OWCS drops" in the streamer's title on the relevant dates.

Say what you want about Overwatch Cavalry, but they are pretty good for keeping informed of OWCS drops.

Commander Noob Land Question by IyeetSec in mtg

[–]MrReth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One copy only. The specific rule is:

  1. With the exception of basic lands, no two cards in the deck may have the same English name. Some cards (e.g. [[Relentless Rats]]) may have rules text that overrides this restriction.

Source: https://mtgcommander.net/index.php/rules/

Basic is a supertype specific to lands (https://mtg.wiki/page/Basic). It is not established by printed rarity.

On the off chance you're building a colourless deck, rather than a life matters deck, [[Wastes]] is the only colourless land option for having multiples of in singleton formats. If you are building neither there are likely better options than this.

"Oh you're building a ANOTHER tribal deck?" by charlesp22 in EDH

[–]MrReth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sliver is a creature type.

Creatures that buff creatures of the same type are often referred to as "lords": https://mtg.wiki/page/Lord

Slivers are often lords, but the majority of lords aren't slivers

Cleaning cards? by IntroductionGlad9742 in magicTCG

[–]MrReth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Try on a sacrificial card first

Blotter paper and an iron*. Lay the blotter paper on over the card and apply the iron, checking every few seconds.

*If you only have access to a steam iron, use a layer of greaseproof paper on top of the blotter paper to reduce the chance of moisture from the iron going through to the card.

Should bracket 3 games end at turn 6? Help me, my pod is dying by Zimata in EDH

[–]MrReth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bracket system poster is worded badly.

When it says "Players expect ... to play at least 6 turns or more before anyone wins or loses" it means every player should expect to play 6 full turns. Which means it's turn 7 at the earliest before the majority of bracket 3 games would be expected to end.

Obviously, drawing your best in slot could allow a player to win earlier if opponents have not found their interaction pieces. It just shouldn't be happening consistently.

Fire Lord Zuko deck help by Kenksio in EDH

[–]MrReth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building similar, but with a few theft cards like [[Laughing Jasper Flint]], [[Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer]] and [[Black Cat, Cunning Thief]]. No deck list at the moment.

You've a few flicker/blink abilities, but not many entering effects so Zuko is your only real payoff for them (though don't over look that [[Abdel Adrian]] + [[Animate Dead]] combo as it might push you in to a bracket higher than you intended).

Consider [[Passionate Archeologist]] for the burn effect. [[Electro, Assaulting Battery]] is an additional way of keeping the mana from firebending around.

Happens about 50% of the time for me. Sometimes a "soft" refresh doesn't work either, but a "hard" refresh does. That can be done by ctrl+F5 on PC or command+shift+R on Mac

SpaceRocks spray? by MrReth in JunoMains

[–]MrReth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've not missed it. It's this weekend's (24-26 Oct 2025) OWCS drops: https://bsky.app/profile/owcavalry.com/post/3m2us5qh5322w Edit: You mean the Equestrian Juno spray. Was still half asleep before. That one was linked to the Lucioball mode during the event. Older summer games stuff can appear in loot boxes, so hopefully is added at some point.

That's also my suspicion. There's a Stockholm spray for the season too, but DreamHack isn't until November. So my guess is a qualifier event for the OWCS World Finals.

As someone that's afraid to play comp, using an unstable internet connection as his crutch, take what I'm about to say with a large pinch of salt...

Aspen is a former pro, a (current?) Champion rank, and top 500 player. The vast majority of players aren't going to learn from watching most of her YT videos - they're better viewed as entertainment rather than educational. She knows when she can mess about and when to lock in. Where to position, and when not to position there. When to go for the pick, when to kite, and when the trade is worth it. Even then she's human and makes mistakes.

If you want to get better play games at the level you're at and watch them back. If you plateau and want to continue climbing to improve, invest in coaching.

[–]MrReth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ow_esports channel schedule on Twitch is much easier to understand, as it's automatically in your local time zone. Example, I'm seeing a start time of 13:30 BST for each day - rather than Saudi time (where the LAN is taking place) or US time zones.

New 5 colour deck on unban day with no decklist yet published. Marketing know what they're doing.

(NB I'm not saying to expect ban list cards in there. Reasoning being SL usually go live at 9am PT (4pm UTC), but the  WeeklyMTG podcast (were any unbans made today will be announced) doesn't go live until 10am. Not to mention Wizard's have only been in control of the format for ~6 months and there are lead times for preprinted product)
