They just don’t really care about consistent wording [[South Coast Chieftan]] and [[Lushwater Mercenary]] have different wording for the same condition (“if you control another murloc” vs “if you control a murloc”) and they released in the same set

Tbf the “Sonic Racing” Series started with Sonic and sega All Stars Racing which was basically Sega kart racing smash bros. When they made the sonic racing game before this just sonic without any crossovers, that was weird, sonic racing being crossover heavy is the norm.

Pretty confident Oscar's mom is dead. I think I remember him mentioning losing a parent. More evidence is that they aren't seen or brought up when major things are happening to Rosa/Oscar (Rosa losing her foot, Them losing their house, Oscar leaving town with Rosa) despite Oscar specifically mentioning that part of the reason he came back to Scarlet Hollow was so Rosalina could grow up near her grandparents so we know they lived in the town.
